Friday news, part two and last:

EA promises increased measures to combat toxicity in its games
https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-promises-increased-measures-to-combat-toxicity-in-its-games/
After making a committment to Black Lives Matter and racial equality, publisher Electronic Arts is now tackling player toxicity at large. The company has unveiled its "Positive Play" charter, an updated set of guidelines for player behaviour for all of its games, services and platforms such as forums. The charter itself is pretty basic stuff—so basic in fact it's a bit surprising some what's in it didn't exist before. Guidelines include "don't be a jerk," "provide useful feedback," and "maybe think twice before posting that".

Utopian survival horror Pamela comes out of Early Access today
https://www.pcgamer.com/utopian-survival-horror-pamela-comes-out-of-early-access-today/
NVYVE Studios' debut Pamela (stylised P.A.M.E.L.A.) remained in Early Access for a really long time after we compared it to System Shock in 2017, but the finished version released on Steam today, together with an all-new trailer. You're a "Sleeper", an augmented being woken from cryosleep by Pamela, the AI overseeing the utopian city of Eden. Something must've gone very wrong, though, because what was once a thriving metropolis now seems abandoned—but of course you're not alone for long.

Fortnite's vicious new sharks are scaring the hell out of everyone
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnites-vicious-new-sharks-are-scaring-the-hell-out-of-everyone/
Fortnite Season 3 is here, and if you thought guards were the only NPCs you'd have to worry about, think again. With half the map now submerged beneath water, players now have to deal with huge sharks roaming the waves, looking for a tasty player to chomp on.

https://www.pcgamer.com/halo-3-testers-who-use-racist-slurs-will-be-removed-and-face-consequences-in-the-retail-game/
Halo 3 testing officially kicked off last week, giving Halo Insiders a chance to get their hands on the next addition to Halo: The Master Chief Collection before it's rolled out to the world at large. 343 Industries community director Brian Jarrad said yesterday that more people are being invited into the test, which has been extended to June 26, and he also had a very stern warning for everyone taking part.

Bungie raises $800,000 for charity as part of the Gaming Community Expo Marathon
https://www.pcgamer.com/bungie-raises-dollar800000-for-charity-as-part-of-the-gaming-collective-expo-marathon/
In the span of just four hours in the ongoing Gaming Community Expo 2020 Charity Marathon, Bungie—with the able assistance of the Destiny 2 community—raised a whopping $800,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Rocket Arena is a colorful 3v3 hero shooter coming in July
https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-announces-rocket-arena-a-colorful-3v3-hero-shooter-coming-in-july/
If the name Rocket Arena sounds familiar, that's because the 3v3 hero shooter was already announced once before. It happened about a year ago, and it even underwent a closed beta—though at the time it was an FPS from developer First Strike Games and being published by Nexon.
Today Rocket Arena was re-announced, this time as a third-person shooter (still 3v3), and now it's being published by EA and launching on July 14. I got to play a few hours of the new Rocket Arena last week: check out some gameplay footage above.

Lost in Random is a coming-of-age fairytale from Fe developer Zoink Games
https://www.pcgamer.com/lost-in-random-is-a-coming-of-age-fairytale-from-fe-developer-zoink-games/
Fe developer Zoink Games revealed its new project today during the EA Play livestream: A coming-of-age tale about Even, a young girl with a big heart and an even bigger temper, called Lost in Random.

EA is making a new Skate game
https://www.pcgamer.com/skate-4-announced/
At the end of today's EA Play Live event, the publisher announced that the Skate series is returning.
"We're back. We're doing it. Skate's happening," said creative director Cuz Parry. "We're rolling ... The Skate evolution continues."

Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time leaked by Taiwan ratings board
https://www.pcgamer.com/crash-bandicoot-4-its-about-time-leaked-by-taiwan-ratings-board/
You can quit your nagging because there's going to be a new Crash Bandicoot game. According to a listing by the notoriously leaky Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time exists, and it's definitely coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. As for PC, Activision has made a habit of releasing its Crash Bandicoot remasters on PC about a year after the console versions, so it'll probably come, just not straight away.

Apex Legends' Lost Treasures Collection Event starts on Tuesday
https://www.pcgamer.com/apex-legends-lost-treasures-event-crypto-town-takeover/
EA Play Live 2020 cut straight to the good stuff yesterday, opening with lots of exciting Apex Legends news. Alongside the announcement that Apex Legends is coming to Steam and getting crossplay, its Lost Treasures collection event is dropping next week, running from June 23 - July 7.

Minecraft inducted into the World Video Game Hall of Fame
https://www.pcgamer.com/minecraft-inducted-into-the-world-video-game-hall-of-fame/
With over 200 million sold copies, spin-offs such as Minecraft Dungeons, and an overall robust legacy, Minecraft is clearly a seminal game. Now its reputation has been cemented further by the game's induction into the World Video Game Hall of Fame.

Let's finish the news taking a look at the deals from GOG and Steam:

Another day, another round of news!

SALES /PLAYER COUNT & DEALS

Eye of the Beholder 2, one of the best dungeon crawlers ever, is free on GOG
https://www.pcgamer.com/eye-of-the-beholder-2-one-of-the-best-dungeon-crawlers-ever-is-free-on-gog/
A few years back I wrote about why you should play the 1991 D&D classic Eye of the Beholder 2: The Legend of Darkmoon. Now here's another one: It's free on GOG until June 19.
Eye of the Beholder 1 and 3 are okay, but EOB2 is where it's at, and if you're not sure you want to power through an entire trilogy of decades-old dungeon crawling it works perfectly well as a standalone experience. It's got everything a great D&D game needs, including sprawling dungeons, sinister bad guys, and a clean, clear divide between good and evil.

All 3 are actually free on GOG, not just EotB2.

Btw, the CRPG Addict tested the first two already:

http://crpgaddict.blogspot.com/2015/06/eye-of-beholder-final-rating.html

http://crpgaddict.blogspot.com/2018/02/eye-of-beholder-ii-summary-and-rating.html

And if you want to read the whole replays/reviews of both games, look here for the different pages (won't link them all separately): http://crpgaddict.blogspot.com/p/blog-page_3.html

Spoiler!
Plot twist: He rated the first one one point higher than II because the first one had better and more NPC interactions, side quests and being less linear. The second one has much improved combat, but that alone wasn't enough to beat the first one in his scoring, something which surprised himself.

Thanks a lot!

Thanks again for posting the deal.

So the 3080 will have the same basic specs of the 2080Ti, but with less VRAM but higher bandwidth? That's a bit odd.

Not free for me, at least for us in the UK :( Thanks for the heads up though!

Steam must be worried about EG if they are teaming up with EA and passing out free games.

Yea I think Vram capacity is getting expensive, specially with all the additional stuff like ray tracing and tensor cores being put in so I am assuming they are trying to cut costs somewhere.

I'd be curious as to how much of it is Valve going to EA vs EA changing their corporate vision. They did also come back to Nintendo out of the blue so I almost want to say EA is just changing some of their ways more so than Valve going to EA.

Yeah now that you mention it I think it might be more on EA's part. EA does seem like they want to change their corporate image. They stated that there will be no micro-transactions in new Star Wars Squadron. And now supporting smaller (indie-like) studios, bigger push for support for Nintendo consoles and reopening the doors to Steam.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Well, yes and not. While the specs are similar to the ones of the 2080Ti, we have to keep in mind that it replaces the 2080 that has 8GB so, while small, it's still an improvement.

It worked fine to me. Just clicked it and got to the page where it told me that it was in my library

I had to try twice but it worked for me on the second try.

Has "GDDR6X" even been announced by Micron or someone else, outside of these Ampere rumors?

Also, I've been replaying Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive for the first time in like fifteen years and man, it's kind of hard really. I thought it was just my teenage brain but nope. That's if you want to be 100% stealthy, at least.
