Ah shucks I was hoping it that would launch and 3700x would go EOL. Maybe like discontinued at about £200 or under like the 2700x dropped.

Might just get 3600X and leave it there and spend the rest on GPU and SSD upgrades.

It's an option.

I bet that it will also go down in price because if the 3800X does, this one will also have to do the same to keep selling.

To be honest, the improved boost clocks would the the only reason to get these new CPUs. Base clock remains the same as the "older" models and only a 100MHz increase for the boost ones (well, the 3800XT boost is 200MHz higher).

Given that the non-XT parts have recieved a $50 cut over the official retail price, I'd go for those instead.

Yeah. I would go for the non-xt parts and just overclock, save a few dollary doo's that way.

No murmers in the enthusiast circles that these are better overclockers.

Itch.io's Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality finishes with nearly $8.2 million
https://www.pcgamer.com/donate-dollar5-or-more-for-742-games-in-the-bundle-for-racial-justice-and-equality/
Update (June 16): A big surge over the final 24 hours pushed Itch.io's Bundle for Racial Justice and Equality to nearly $8.2 million raised for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and the Community Bail Fund.
The bundle ultimately grew to include 1704 projects, ranging from well-known indie hits like Night in the Woods and Celeste to smaller-scale and more experimental fare like No Brakes Valet and One-Eyed Lee and the Dinner Party, both of which I selected for mention because their titles made me laugh. 814,679 people threw an average of $10.03 at the bundle, with a top contribution of $5,000, and the final total raised was $8,175,570.67. The money will be split evenly between the two organizations.

Rockstar stops modders from spawning KKK members in Red Dead Online
https://www.pcgamer.com/rockstar-stops-modders-from-spawning-kkk-members-in-red-dead-online/
Rockstar's multiplayer Wild West-fest Red Dead Online, like the older GTA Online, has its fair share of hackers. Sometimes they do funny things, like turning into two-headed skeletons and punching out cowboys, or messing with Chris in various ways. Other times, they use cheats to spawn KKK members and harass other players.
The KKK isn't a part of the Red Dead Online world, but as Polygon explains, it exists in the singleplayer campaign of Red Dead Redemption 2, and that's enabled players to use mods to bring the white supremacist group to the multiplayer setting. Some players have reported a recent uptick in KKK-related hacks and cheats on the RDO subreddit.
Earlier today, Tez2 reported on Twitter that a new update eliminates the ability to spawn KKK "peds"—Red Dead's in-game models—in Red Dead Online on PC. Some players seem unhappy that Rockstar addressed this issue relatively quickly but not more widespread technical problems, but it's something, even if it falls well short of implementing friend-only sessions in RDO, as some players have called for.

If I'm honest, I didn't believe the rumor about the delay. Mostly because it's very expensive to book the manufacturing capacity at TSMC, AMD wasn't going to let go waste their both capacity, and it's very expensive to just have those chips laying around waiting to be launched. Also, the lackluster specs of the new XT chips don't seem to make them good enough to fill the gap.

But we may also be going forward an almost paper launch, with the processors launching in small quantities this year and not being wildly available until some time next year.

I saw the article about the APU running Crysis withou a cooler. Very impressive. Useless, but impressive.

Honest question here: I've seen you making this statement several times already and I can't help but wonder if the Steam version is really that bad or has so many troubles? It's just that I can't see the benefit of removing the game, and playerbase, from one store to another just for the sake of "I bought the developer and the game is now mine, and mine alone".

Can it run Crysis?

Yes, without cooler (Renoir) or even a GPU (Threadripper)

As for the supposed delay, it was very clear that that was a hoax. I mean, just a week before we got roadmaps showing Zen 3 this year and Zen 4 before 2022. The delay wouldn't have made any sense for either chip.

My take is that the rumor came from somebody who wanted to short his shares but needed them to be a bit cheaper to make a profit from it.
