Remedy’s CEO comments on Control’s sales: “we are in a good position with steady sales”
Remedy’s Control is, at least in my opinion, one of the best games of 2019. And while the game did not top the sale charts when it launched, it appears that it’s profitable for both Remedy and 505 Games.
As Remedy’s CEO Tero Virtala told GamesIndustry, the game had a budget of less than €30 million. And from what we know so far, the game has most likely broke even.
Back in November, Digital Bros stated that Control had generated €17.7 million in its first month. Furthermore, Digital Bros claimed that it received 9.49 million euro (which translates to $10.5 million) for Control’s EGS exclusivity.
Shenmue III sales flopped
It looks like Shenmue III, the highly anticipated (by fans) continuation of the 2001 title, is not doing very well. The game was a debut at number 17, and sold 50% less compared to Shenmue I & II remaster in the UK. The game also sold less than 18.000 units in Japan and received the fourth place in the console charts.
The game was first funded through Kickstarter with more than 80.000 backers. Sadly since then, several not very cool things happened, which did no sit very well with many people. Also the game is very archaic in every form. Meaning fewer people will find interest in something like that in the year 2019.

Halo Reach looks significantly better with the Reshade Ray Tracing Mod
Digital Dreams has shared a new video, showing Halo: Reach with some Ray Tracing effects. As always, Digital Dreams used Pascal Gilcher’s Reshade that can overhaul a game’s Global Illumination effects.
Halo Reach is a really old game and we can easily notice the visual improvements that this Reshade Ray/Path Tracing mod brings to the table. Thanks to these post-processing techniques, the game does not look as flat as it does in its vanilla version.
This Red Dead Redemption 2 mod will let you switch sides and become a lawman
If you're sick of being an outlaw on the run in Red Dead Redemption 2, a solution is on its way. An upcoming mod will let you give up your life of crime and embrace the law, hunting down crooks and interrogating suspicious cowboys.
RDRFR, like its GTA 5 counterpart, aims to overhaul the game, turning it into a cop simulator, but the modders are planning to make it a bit different from its predecessor. The games themselves are very different kinds of sandboxes, and they're hoping to take advantage of the improvements to create a more "intimate and refined" follow-up.
