Going to be upgrading my Ryzen 2700u notebook to a 4800u this year. Absolutely pumped.

Bought the 2700u for eSports titles like Overwatch and StarCraft 2 whilst I was interstate for training, sadly I had to run Overwatch at 60% render scale of 1080P to maintain 60fps, so there was allot of stair stepping/jaggies, hoping the 4700u/4800u rectifies that.

Just waiting on Lenovo to release more notebooks, I want a model with more I/O, Upgradeable Ram, 15" 1080P IPS display, with a durable and plain look... Maybe something along the lines of the E595 model but with a 4800u instead of 3700u.

Nice! I used to think U series cpus were meh until the AMD ones came along and really gave some crazy performance! Notebookcheck recently did a review with the Acer swift, a $650 laptop with the 4700U and the performance is wow worthy.

I should be looking at around a 40% uplift in GPU capabilities... But it will come into it's own at higher resolutions, the Ryzen 2700u and 3700u were severely constrained by only 2400mhz DDR4... Where the 4800u will get some breathing room and operate at 3200mhz, so that is a good 30% uptick on that alone which will definitely help in memory bandwidth scenarios. Aka. Higher resolutions with lots of Alpha effects.

Plus the 2700u had terrible power management, often if I limited the CPU clockrate the APU could funnel more TDP from the CPU into the GPU netting a small increase in framerates. Hardly ideal.

Making me moist just thinking about it.

The June 23 update will also include the Chroma Wheel, which will allow for full control over your character's colour palette, as opposed to the preset options that are currently available.

SnowRunner, the chilly successor to Spintires and MudRunner, has received a new map in its latest update, the Rift Update.
The new map is found in the Taymyr region, predictably called Rift. What it lacks in snow it makes up for in verticality, featuring stark cliffs that need to somehow be manuevered. However, this doesn't fix my biggest issue with SnowRunner, which is that only one of the three regions currently in the game features the snow promised in the title. Having yet another muddy map feels like it's kind of missing the point of the game, somewhat?

Destiny 2: Season of Arrivals got underway yesterday, with a new dungeon, activities, gear, and a new exotic grenade launcher called Witherhoard. It is instantly available to all season pass owners and packs quite a punch. Way more punch than I think Bungie intended, in fact: Dedicated players who picked it up and put it to use found that it doesn't just clobber raid bosses, it absolutely deletes them.
Update: Erasing all doubt, Bungie community manager dmg04 confirmed that Witherhoard is definitely not supposed to be doing what it's doing, and won't be doing it much longer. Sorry, everyone.

At IGN's first Summer of Gaming Expo today, a new Chivalry 2 trailer showed off a bit of castle sieging and knight decapitating. It looks as delightfully stupid as expected—watch above.
The video also mentions that Chivalry 2 will feature crossplay among all platforms: PC (it's an Epic Games Store exclusive), PS4, Xbox One, and the next-gen consoles. That was leaked earlier today, but it's nice to have confirmation.

These mutant dinos have taken over the planet, though nobody really knows where they even came from. The remainder of humanity has fled Earth to a space station in orbit, but they're coming back with a bunch of guns to take back the planet, look for survivors, and discover what led to this dino invasion in the first place.

The Pro will probably cost a kidney but their Evo series generally has similar speeds and costs a lot less. We will see though since there's no wording on price yet.
