So which EGS games "magically do not work, or are busted"?

Which EGS games don't have gamepad support?

Which C&C games (or other Origin games) do not work?

Which Uplay games do not work?

P. S.: I just tried every C&C games on Origin.

Command & Conquer 1, 3, 4, Generals, Renegade and Red Alert 1, 2 and 3 all worked without any problems.

The only problematic game was C&C 2 (Tiberian Sun)... and it took me a total of 2 minutes for finding and installing a proper patch:
https://forums.cncnet.org/topic/2606-tiberian-sun-patches-fix-for-the-windows-8-10-menu-problems-and-more/

The thing with PC is that it's not one standard software or hardware configuration, so whilst something may anecdotally work fine on your machine it may not anecdotally work fine on another.

The thing is: I doubt he even tried EGS games on his computer and his argument that EGS games "magically do not work, or are busted" is hearsay from EGS haters.

And if someone doesn't want to use additional PC launchers, that is totally fine. But "justifying" that decision to avoid a platform (with hundreds of games) with a handful of broken games (on some exotic hardware setups) is stupid.

With that logic, we should avoid every platform since we can find some problematic games for EVERY platform (PC launchers, handhelds, consoles, mobile devices).

Fishy AMD Sienna CiChlid reference gets added to Linux driver patches, likely to be 'Big Navi' Navi 21

All those doubled parts makes me think of AMD's past dual GPU cards.

Have they found a way to make it work now? Like 2 GPUs connected in a similar as their CPU parts are with Infinity Fabric, making it look like one big GPU to the system?

I doubt it, but sometimes AMD does crazy things.

We should also especially avoid Steam since they have been known to release games without even an executable file i.e. publishing games that work for literally no one. Not to mention all the other trash that can't even be called "games".

As far as I'm concerned, nobody should be angry at completely optional stuff. But The Internet likes to get angry.

I paid 45 bucks 4-5 years ago which gets me one ship, access to the alphas, as well as the finished game and also a copy of Squadron 42 whenever it releases.  I've played enough of the alphas to know that if nothing ever happens with this, I'll have gotten my 45 dollars worth.  And honestly, I'm more excited about Squadron 42 than the main game.  If that releases, I'll be happy as a pig in shit.  The main Star Citizen game will just be a bonus.

If you're happy with what you've got so far, then all the better for you, congratulations. But, from an outsider, it's hard to comprehend.

Yes, I know they've had to start from zero and that they're pushing the boundaries, but it's been 8 years and there's still no release date. That they're changing plans and delaying the game to add more features instead of doing it once the game launches, like it's the common practice, only highlights that.

Yeah, I'm not really expecting everyone else to like it or comprehend it or anything.  I just find it silly that so many people jump in crying scam, or actually getting angry because they offer optional high dollar pledges (like just about any kickstarter). I would never spend thousands on virtual ships and such, for the record, but the fact that the option exists isn't really something to react negatively about.

Some Navi things:

AMD Big Navi to arrive before next-generation consoles.
“There’s a lot of excitement for Navi 2, or what our fans have dubbed as the Big Navi“
“Big Navi is a halo product”
“Enthusiasts love to buy the best, and we are certainly working on giving them the best”.
“RDNA 2 architecture goes through the entire stack“
"it will go from mainstream GPUs all the way up to the enthusiasts and then the architecture also goes into the game console products... as well as our integrated APU products.
"This allows us to leverage the larger ecosystem, accelerate the development of exciting features like ray tracing and more."

Let the big Navi hype train start. Fully expecting it to come up short against nVidia's 3000 series.

All comes down to price.

That's because I've been noting on all the responses from people around Reddit, Twitter and forums, even on the likes of Steam (because you know very well EGS doesn't have a built in forum). people complaining about their games not starting right, games not supporting one gamepad or the other etc. Just because they work for you, doesn't mean they work for everyone else, and tossing out the "works for me" line doesn't solve the issues others have, so either 1 on 1 talk to them and resolve their issues, or accept that they have them and notice the problem.

You of all people know why I detest that company and CEO, and you know we've got a moderator in here anyway, so let's lay off the labels. NO feelings should ever be hurt for me calling out a shady CEO or a company (only reason why you've called my a hater is because you believe in something with that company, otherwise you wouldn't feel the need to make your post sounding that way in the first place).

Hey, I have numerous reasons why I don't want to use EGS, let alone Uplay. I'm perfectly fine with GoG, Steam and Battlenet, while Origin has some games that just flat out do not work "perfectly" on Windows 10 "for me".

By your logic I should follow everything you say to a T and not think or make decisions for myself, because you're apparently the most wisest person known to man (apparently).

People seem to easily avoid Bethnet. Wonder how many hundreds of million users they totally must have by now.

New Spawn Content Mod Pack for Devil May Cry 5 is now available for download
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/new-spawn-content-mod-pack-for-devil-may-cry-5-is-now-available-for-download/
Spawn fans, here is something truly amazing for you today. Evilmaginakuma has released a new content pack for Devil May Cry 5 that brings to it characters and weapons from the Spawn universe. And, since we don’t know when and if we’ll get a new Spawn game, we strongly suggest downloading it. That is of course if you are die-hard Spawn fans.
Going into more details, this pack replaces Dante with Spawn, and the final form of Urizen with Malebolgia. It also adds some weapons that Spawn can use. For instance, you can use a custom sword and an axe. Unfortunately, though, there is no way to use your cape in order to create new weapons or shields.

The Windows Store is so awful Phantasy Star Online 2 fans made a custom launcher to circumvent it
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-windows-store-is-so-awful-phantasy-star-online-2-fans-made-a-custom-launcher-to-circumvent-it/
Phantasy Star Online 2's launch in North America was a disaster thanks to the Windows Store. Though some players were able to get in and play just fine, many had frustrating issues like the game redownloading itself constantly, not working for mysterious reasons, or saddling them with unbearable lag when hanging out with other players in PSO2's hub areas. Though Microsoft and Sega still haven't worked out all the fixes, players aren't waiting. They've already updated a custom launcher to circumvent the Windows Store entirely, fixing almost all of PSO2's major problems. The program is called PSO2 Tweaker and, if you're already playing or interested in getting started, it's a must-have program. With the latest update, PSO2 Tweaker can now install PSO2 and keep it up to date without even needing to open the Windows Store. It also has a bunch of useful options that make it a much better alternative to the original launcher, like more granular graphics settings.
>> It's available from here, and you'll find a step by step guide at Reddit.
