Unavowed developer releases secret game jam experiment
https://www.pcgamer.com/unavowed-developer-releases-secret-game-jam-experiment/
Wadjet Eye's Dave Gilbert is one of the best adventure game designers around, and together with artist Ben Chandler he's responsible for the likes of the Blackwell series and Unavowed. He's also been experimenting with Unity and, under a fake name, entered AdventureJam 2019 and produced a 3D short. He's decided it's time to share it.

Claptrap presents a guide to Borderlands 3's Pandora
https://www.pcgamer.com/claptrap-presents-a-guide-to-borderlands-3s-pandora/
Borderlands 3 will send vault hunters across space and to various worlds, but the series mainstay, Pandora, will still be around. Gearbox has put together a video showing off the vibrant wildlife inhabiting the dusty world, all waiting to be riddled with bullets. And Claptrap. Mostly Claptrap.

Epic pledges to cover refunds on crowdfunded games that go EGS exclusive
https://www.pcgamer.com/epic-pledges-to-cover-refunds-on-crowdfunded-games-that-go-egs-exclusive/
The original Shenmue 3 Kickstarter campaign stated that the game would be released on Steam, a plan that went out the window last month when Deep Silver and Ys Net announced that would be an Epic Games Store exclusive for one year. Upsetting unhappy backers even more was an apparent reluctance to offer refunds: Ys Net and Epic said they would "assess the situation" but didn't commit to giving unhappy backers their money back until today.
Shortly after today's refund announcement was made, Epic CEO Tim Sweeney took to Twitter to say that this kind of situation won't happen again—not because Epic isn't going to continue pursuing exclusives (it is), but because it will cover any existing commitments to other storefronts, or guarantee refunds in lieu of that.

Blizzard says Hearthstone card art changes have nothing to do with China
https://www.pcgamer.com/hearthstone-card-art-changes/
Blizzard made changes to the artwork on eight Hearthstone cards yesterday (and changed the names of two of them), and the reaction was not entirely positive. Multiple posters in this Reddit thread, for instance, speculate that the sex and violence was dialed back in order to be in line with Chinese regulations. That would not be unprecedented: China's gaming market is heavily censored, and Blizzard has previously made changes to World of Warcraft visuals in order to comply with regulations.

Cuphead's 'The Delicious Last Course' DLC has been delayed to 2020
https://www.pcgamer.com/cupheads-the-delicious-last-course-dlc-has-been-delayed-to-2020/
Initially announced in 2018, Cuphead was meant to get a substantial DLC pack this year in the form of 'The Delicious Last Course'. The expansion will introduce a new isle of levels, a new playable character, "a dollop of" new weapons and charms, and as you'd expect, more bosses to bang your head against. But a new teaser trailer today confirms that the DLC won't release until 2020.

Repair a frightful machine in free horror game Please
https://www.pcgamer.com/repair-a-frightful-machine-in-free-horror-game-please/
Please continues one of 201X's grand traditions: the revival of late-'90s-ish horror games, like you might find on the original PlayStation or the Sega Saturn. (And, of course, the PC, but that's not really the look most are going for.) Somewhat's Please is the latest. It's a tense, short delve into an ambiguous world where a janitor looks after a great machine. You are that janitor. Please ignore the horrible noises and do your job.

Plant trees in minutes in relaxing free gardening game Meditation Forest
https://www.pcgamer.com/plant-trees-in-minutes-in-relaxing-free-gardening-game-meditation-forest/
I was a little startled when the otherwise relaxing Meditation Forest suddenly began to fade out, and then to shut down, as I don't find time limits to be all that calming. Still, nothing lasts forever, and you should definitely play around with this tactile forestation game while it lets you.

Warsaw is a striking World War 2 RPG coming in September
https://www.pcgamer.com/warsaw-is-a-striking-world-war-2-rpg-coming-in-september/
Warsaw, the tactical RPG set during the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, piqued my interest back when it was revealed in February. A suitably moody trailer, unusual premise for an RPG and the unexpected hint of Darkest Dungeon made for a memorable introduction. The latest trailer, accompanying the September release date announcement, shows off a bunch of in-game footage this time, so give it a watch above.

Dota Underlords is getting a 'Proto-Battle Pass' this week
https://www.pcgamer.com/dota-underlords-is-getting-a-proto-battle-pass-this-week/
Dota Underlords, Valve's Dota-themed autobattler, is due an update this week, with "experimental features" that the team's keen to test on its Early Access guinea pigs. There are some tweaks and reworks coming, too, along with the first version of the battle pass.

Satisfactory goes nuclear with its second update
https://www.pcgamer.com/satisfactory-goes-nuclear-with-its-second-update/
Satisfactory's second Early Access update introduces the awesome power of nuclear energy to the factory builder. If you've been watching Chernobyl and are terrified of nuclear power, you're very sensible, because along with all that power comes the spectre of radiation.

Just checked out the SUPER cards. looks like a solid offering. But seeing how the 2080ti is still so far beyond everything else it's hard to believe that we'll see a super version anytime soon. I really want to splurge on a 2080ti but it seems so much of a waste considering how amazing the 3080ti will be. 7nm and hopefully a shit ton more RT and Tensor cores are gonna show us what's really possible. Buying a 2080ti feels like buying an alpha prototype of a real card.

The RTX 2080 Super will launch in a few days, in July 23. And given how the new Super cards perform, it wouldn't surprise me if the 2080 Super ends up virtually tied with the 2080Ti.

Maybe that's the card you should get while you wait for the 3080Ti.

But why buy the 2080 super when I can just buy a 2080ti, which will be strictly better? If anything I'd like to buy a 2080ti Super.

I guess I'll just try to hold out until the 3080ti drops.

Offline server mod released for Need for Speed World, allows you to play this cancelled game in offline mode
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/offline-server-mod-released-for-need-for-speed-world-allows-you-to-play-this-cancelled-game-in-offline-mode/
Back in 2015, Electronic Arts shut down the official servers for the online racing game based on the Need for Speed franchise, Need For Speed: World. However, PC gamers will now be able to play this racing game in offline mode as an offline server mod has just been released.
Created by modders berkay2578 and Nilzao, this offline server mod will allow you to have the full control over your game with a customizable, fully functioning local offline server.
According to the berkay2578, this is a modified release of the last stable build(v1.9) published by the original development team. This modified version was released by Keule306 in 04/02/2017 and almost all functionality in the game is restored and is working properly.
>> Get the mod from Nexus Mods, but you'll need Java in order to run this mod.

This Slay the Spire mod turns you into Sailor Moon and it rules
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-slay-the-spire-mod-turns-you-into-sailor-moon-and-it-rules/
When I was a kid, Sailor Moon was my jam. Do you know what's also my jam? This super cool Sailor Moon-themed Slay the Spire mod that adds her as a playable character, along with 75 new cards and 20 new relics. This isn't just a one-dimensional reskin: Creators Aelie and KumaGorath have created some entirely new mechanics to learn, too. It's all very impressive.
Though I'm far from a Slay the Spire pro, I've taken this mod for a run and was surprised by how comprehensive it is. The modders created a fully animated Sailor Moon avatar, and well over half of her cards have unique animations when cast. But what's really cool is how Sailor Moon plays compared to Slay the Spire's main cast.

The news, part two:

Hitman 2's July roadmap targets musicians
https://www.pcgamer.com/hitman-2s-july-roadmap-targets-musicians/
Hitman 2 is preparing for a hot, loud summer full of killer musicians and killing musicians, kicking off tomorrow, July 4, with The Babayeva Dissonance. It's an escalation contract where you'll be blowing up a noisy band on the Isle of Sgail. Agent 47 apparently doesn't appreciate a good tune.

Stranger Things portals have appeared in Fortnite
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-stranger-things/
Season 3 of Stranger Things, the bad nostalgia show brought to you by Coca-Cola, drops on July 4 and because Fortnite is companion pop culture neutron star that sucks in as many big brands as possible (from the Avengers and John Wick to the NFL and Air Jordan) portals from the popular Netflix series have appeared on the battle royale map.

The French are coming! (for the UK's game developers)
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-french-are-coming-for-the-uks-game-developers/
The apparent inevitability of Brexit and the havoc it seems likely to wreak has most people resigned to simply making the best of it. One rather large group of such people is the entire nation of France, which has launched a program called "Join the Game" aimed at promoting the country as an epicenter of game development, and enticing developers who, for one reason or another, might be looking to relocate in the near future.

Artifact designer thinks it can be saved but isn't interested in doing 'damage control'
https://www.pcgamer.com/artifact-designer-thinks-it-can-be-saved-but-isnt-interested-in-doing-damage-control/
In a recent interview with Eurogamer, designer Richard Garfield acknowledged the raft of complaints but also defended the game, saying "there's demonstrable information to the contrary" regarding what unhappy players thought about it.

Deleted tweet suggests Auto Chess alpha test could begin very soon (but not this week)
https://www.pcgamer.com/deleted-tweet-suggests-auto-chess-alpha-test-could-begin-very-soon/
The big names in the burgeoning "autobattler" genre right now are Dota Underlords from Valve, and Teamfight Tactics from Riot Games. But a third contender, from the team that started the whole thing with the mega-popular Dota Auto Chess mod, looks like it will soon enter the fray too.
Update: A Dragonest rep said in an email that despite the tweet, the Auto Chess alpha will not begin this week, and that an actual start date has not been set.

Jedi: Fallen Order's lightsaber will be more vibrant following E3 criticism
https://www.pcgamer.com/jedi-fallen-orders-lightsaber-will-be-more-vibrant-following-e3-criticism/
I didn't notice anything wrong with Jedi: Fallen Order's lightsaber—apart from its inability to cut things in two—but apparently I wasn't looking hard enough.
The lightsaber was missing the bright white core lightsabers usually have, and was instead more of a solid blue, according to the critics. (I'm not sure who those critics were, but good eyes, critics.) You can see that version of the lightsaber in the EA Play gameplay video above.

Due to declining player numbers, Battlerite's next season may be its last
https://www.pcgamer.com/due-to-declining-player-numbers-battlerites-next-season-may-be-its-last/
Battlerite will get its third Battle Pass later this month, but it may be the last, according to a statement by Stunlock Studios. Citing declining player numbers and investment, the well-received MOBA hybrid will have its development scaled back, with the studio investigating how best to handle both Battlerite and its battle royale component as it moves to new projects.

The Langrisser JRPG series is returning to PC after a 20 year absence
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-langrisser-jrpg-series-is-returning-to-pc-after-a-20-year-absence/
Langrisser is a tactical, turn-based JRPG series missing in action for the last few decades. While PC did get a weird browser-based spin-off in the form of Langrisser Tri-Swords, it was Japan only, and for that matter, most Langrisser games have remained unlocalised, except for the original game and a few fan translations.

The Aliens shooter developer is hiring again
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-aliens-shooter-developer-is-hiring-again/
The hint of an Aliens game gets me all frothy, even if it's just a studio putting out the call for new team members. Cold Iron Studios' unnamed Aliens game was teased at the start of 2018, and we've not heard much about it since. Until this week, the last tweet from the official account was from November, but there are once again signs of life.

Builders of Egypt looks like a modern Pharaoh
https://www.pcgamer.com/builders-of-egypt-looks-like-a-modern-pharaoh/
Builders of Egypt is a historical city builder where you'll need to nurture towns, erect pyramids and get into the occasional military squabble up and down the Nile. It bears a striking resemblance to Impressions Games' Pharaoh and its spiritual successor, Children of the Nile, something I've been waiting to say for over a decade. Check out the trailer above.

I just bought a bike and accessories for several thousands and I'm planning a Japan trip that's gonna be around at least 4000. But I think I really really need a new GPU soon. I want to finally go 4K on Rocket League. Who knows if I'll still be playing it when the 3080 drops.

Rocket League is a game you want massive FPS numbers on 144fps+ and even more if your really into it competitively going for 200+.

My 1080 can't at 144fps but the 2080ti should be able to.
