Ran a benchmark and found out my RX470 has been running way below what it should be since I got it almost a year ago. Undervolted the GPU and it fixed all the problems, I thought my performance was normal and started to blame stuttering on my CPU/RAM as turning down graphics settings did nothing to help. Well, I guess now I've learnt to actually test new parts are performing as they should be when I get them now.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider went from eventually beginning to stutter on low settings to running on high no problem.

Grimes will front an in-game band in Cyberpunk 2077
https://www.pcgamer.com/grimes-will-front-an-in-game-band-in-cyberpunk-2077/
It goes without saying that you can't have a good cyberpunk experience without some good cyberpunk music backing it up. Syndicate would just not be the same without Skrillex, right? (And for the record, I believe completely unironically that Syndicate is a far better game than it's generally given credit for, and has an excellent soundtrack.) To that end, CD Projekt has dropped a teaser showcasing some of the musical talents contributing tunes to its upcoming cyber-RPG Cyberpunk 2077.

The Outer Worlds is getting DLC next year

Telltale's Batman is apparently getting DLC and a rerelease

As Gematsu reports, a press release announcing a "noir-style visual makeover and graphical upgrade" for Batman: The Telltale Series alongside a rerelease called the Shadows Edition was quietly posted on the website of Athlon Games and then removed. Presumably a gun was jumped on an announcement that one of the rights-holders involved wasn't ready for just yet.

Indie FPS Receiver is getting a sequel

Dungeons & Dragons may be enjoying a cultural relevance it hasn't seen since the 1980s, but while its fifth edition has flourished it hasn't been well represented in videogames. (...)
The announcements of new Baldur's Gate and Dark Alliance games suggest a change, and that's backed up by Wizards of the Coast. In an interview with Gamesindustry.biz, Wizards of the Coast president Chris Cocks explained that this is only the beginning and there are "seven or eight" videogames based on D&D coming out in the next few years.

Surgeon Simulator is getting a sequel
https://www.pcgamer.com/surgeon-simulator-is-getting-a-sequel/
The sequel will be out next year, but though the trailer shows a bunch of Napoleon Dynamite-looking surgeons getting up to mischief it doesn't give away much about the actual game. According to the website there will be co-op and it sure does seem like it'll support four players.

Street Fighter 3's Gill was revealed when the new edition was announced, and at the Capcom Cup another old boss was unveiled: Street Fighter 4's Seth.

Prologue, the new game from PUBG Corp and Brendan 'PlayerUnknown' Greene, is only 30 seconds of damp, slightly ominous forest at the moment. The brief teaser was shown off at The Game Awards, and for more details we're going to have to wait. Greene has confirmed, however, that it's not PUBG 2, and it's not even a shooter.

In an interview with Gamesindustry.biz, Wizards of the Coast president Chris Cocks explained that this is only the beginning and there are "seven or eight" videogames based on D&D coming out in the next few years.

I fairly recently got fully back into pen&paper D&D after 30 or so years (and started DM-ing no less), 5th edition is quite solid system, very easy to get into, though not without some bigger issues that call for homebrewing or houseruling, but the freedom of tabletop RPGs...oh dear...I think I've started actively shunning video game RPGs due to how limited they are, even when they have great narrative and systems, compared to P&P RPGs...

Anyway, hopefully at least one of those games will be great, Baldur's Gate 3 probably being good candidate for that already, given that it's made by Larian, but I'm hoping that others won't be just fast half-hearted attempts at milking the revived popularity of D&D...cause, as much as they are limited, I still want to see something as good as Planescape: Torment or Baldur's Gate 1&2, games that still stand as pinnacle of VG D&D RPGs.

You can now play Final Fantasy 7 with 3D character models closer to Tetsuya Nomura’s concept art
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/you-can-now-play-final-fantasy-7-with-3d-character-models-closer-to-tetsuya-nomuras-concept-art/
NiNoStyle has been working on an interesting project for the original version of Final Fantasy 7. This mod aims to balance stylized Final Fantasy VII characters with 3D models in a style based on Tetsuya Nomura’s concept art.
On December 11th, the modder released a new version of this 3D Model pack. Naturally, this latest version aims to enhance your Final Fantasy VII playing experience, by improving some of the 3D models.
Do note that this mod does not aim to change the game’s aesthetics like the Advent Children pack. While the models are not as “blocky” as before, they retain their anime-like look. They are also not as detailed as the Advent Children models, something that will definitely please all FF7 purists fans out there.
In order to install this pack, you’ll need to install and run the manager from 7th Heaven Mod Manager page. Once you’ve done that, you can download the 7th Heaven compatible versions from here.

This Red Dead Redemption 2 mod lets bears ride horses
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-red-dead-redemption-2-mod-lets-bears-ride-horses/
In Red Dead Redemption 2, only humans have the privilege of riding a horse, but thankfully there's now a mod that fixes this inequality by letting every living creature in the game ride them. Everything from a bear to other horses can now enjoy the experience of being ferried from A to B while resting their tired legs. It's absolutely terrifying.
Clearly neither animal is particularly happy about the state of affairs, perhaps realising, innately, that this is completely unnatural. They're not willing participants, either. Pir2's Horse TP mod lets you teleport animals onto a horse you've assigned at the press of a button, at which point they miraculously appear on your horse's back, probably pretty surprised.

Players are apparently hacking human NPCs into Fallout 76
https://www.pcgamer.com/players-are-apparently-hacking-human-npcs-into-fallout-76/
Remember Wooby? He was a human NPC that players discovered hiding in a secret 'dev room' in Fallout 76 back in January. The hidden room contained every item in Fallout 76, including a few that hadn't actually made it into the game at the time. The room's caretaker was a lone human NPC named Wooby.
Wooby's discovery was a big surprise at the time because we hadn't yet learned about Fallout 76's Wastelanders expansion, which will bring human NPCs to the game next year. Well, some hackers just couldn't wait that long, and it appears they have managed to free Wooby from his little room and bring him into the game.

Steam's biggest new games in November include Empires, Kingdoms, Farmers, and Jedi
https://www.pcgamer.com/steams-biggest-new-games-in-november-include-empires-kingdoms-farmers-and-jedi/
Around the middle of each month, Valve releases a list of the previous month's top-selling new games on Steam, based on revenues generated over the first two weeks of release. (That's why the lists don't come out until mid-month: Games that come out at the end of a month still need their two weeks to ring up the dollars.) Because Valve doesn't share actual dollar figures, the lists are chronological, based on release date, and there's often a little insight or spot of trivia about the peculiarities of each month's lineup.

WilliamGee has shared a teaser trailer for his upcoming retro first-person shooter, WGRealms 2020. WGRealms 2020 is an old school retro game using Eduke32 and Duke Nukem 3D as a base.
This is a standalone total conversion of Duke Nukem 3D with influences from Doom, Hexen, Lord of the Rings, Unreal and more.
What this basically means is that the game features enemies, weapons and items from all these classic first-person shooters. Basically, think of it as a mashup of these classic FPS titles.
The first version of WGRealms came out in 2009. A big update was then released in 2011 that you can download and play. Unfortunately, the modder did not reveal the new features and changes that will be coming to version 2020. He didn’t also unveil any release date so we don’t really know when it will come out.
