The Offspring is playing a gig in World of Tanks tomorrow

Marshmello has played a gig in Fortnite, and Korn has played a gig in AdventureQuest 3D, so why shouldn't The Offspring play a gig in World of Tanks? Well, the answer is that there is no reason why they shouldn't. So they are.

Am I the only one who got instantly reminded of Crazy Taxi and wants to play that now... with a Tank?

Crazy Taxi with a tank? I think you're unto something... what I don't know is if that something is great or plain madness (or both) XD.

League of Legends draws 8 million concurrent players, making it the most popular game on PC
https://www.pcgamer.com/8-million-people-play-league-of-legends-every-day-making-it-the-most-popular-game-on-pc/
League of Legends is turning 10 this fall, and to celebrate Riot Games has a special event planned on October 15 that will include a livestreamed look at the past, present, and future of LoL—including teases of 2020's preseason changes and Teamfight Tactics next big update.
Oh, and developer Riot Games also announced in a press release that League of Legends sees about 8 million peak concurrent players logging in everyday—which probably makes League the most popular game in the world (not like that should surprise anyone). But it is bigger than the top ten games on Steam put together.

Rockstar releases its own launcher, gives away for free Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/rockstar-launches-its-own-launcher-gives-away-for-free-grand-theft-auto-san-andreas/
Rockstar has launched its very own launcher via which PC gamers can enjoy the company’s games. In order to celebrate this launch, the team is currently offering Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas for free to everyone that downloads the launcher.
Do note that this is a limited offer. Rockstar has not stated when this offer will end, so we suggest acquiring this GTA game while you still can. Well, that is obviously if a) you are fine with yet another launcher and b) you don’t already own San Andreas.
According to its description, Rockstar’s launcher supports all of Rockstar’s PC games. Moreover, it supports cloud saves and supports automatic updates.
>> Yes, yet another launcher. You can discuss about it at konnichiwa's thread on the matter. Personally, I'll pass from this one but, if you're ready to give it a go, you can download it from here.

The big Steam library update is now available to everyone
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-big-steam-library-update-is-now-available-to-everyone/
The Steam library update we learned about a couple of weeks ago is now in open beta, meaning that anyone can opt in to try the new look.
The updated library brings new filtering and organizational options and displays recent updates to games in your library. It also looks much better. Functionality should always come first, of course, but the old library layout looked, well, old, and the new styling is welcome.

While Fifa Street 4 and Supremacy MMA never came out on the PC, PC gamers can finally enjoy these two titles in 4K and with 60fps. This is possible thanks to the Playstation 3 emulator, RPCS3, as its latest version runs these games smoothly.
YouTube’s ‘DrGameboy’ shared the following videos, showing both of these games running in 4K and 60fps on RPCS3. In order to run them DrGameboy used an i7 8700K (at 5Ghz) with 16GB of DDR4 4000Mhz RAM and an NVIDIA RTX2080Ti.

This mod allows you to play the Half-Life campaign in co-op mode, available for download
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/this-mod-allows-you-to-play-the-half-life-campaign-in-co-op-mode-available-for-download/
Modder ‘Hiems’ has released a pretty cool mod for the first Half-Life game. As its title suggests, Half-Life: Coop allows you to play the campaign of Valve’s classic shooter in co-op mode.
Contrary to other co-op mods like Svencoop or DC coop, Half-Life: Coop does not change important aspects about the game. In other words, the objective of this mod is to be compatible with the servers of Half-Life 1 and keep it as vanilla as possible. As such, this is a must-have mod for all purists Half-Life fans out there.
>> You can download it from ModDB, but be aware that the mod is still unfinished and you can't fight the final boss.

You can pat the dogs in Fallout 4 now, thanks to this mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/you-can-pat-the-dogs-in-fallout-4-now-thanks-to-this-mod/
Everyone wants to pat dogs in videogames nowadays. You can show your affection to dogs in Enter the Gungeon, and there's a mod for making friends with dogs in Wolfenstein 3D. The world has gone dog crazy. You know patting dogs is "a big thing" because even flagrant meme bandwagon jumper Fortnite lets you do it.
Meanwhile, cats seem to have gone a bit out of fashion. Remember when everyone cared more about cats? The world seemed less complex, back then. But since we are firmly in the era of loving dogs more than cats (and who can complain about animals getting love), it's no surprise that you can now pat the dogs – any friendly dogs, not just Dogmeat – in Fallout 4. 'Pet Any Dog' is a mod created by Sagittarius22, and it pretty much does what you'd expect.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare crossplay details revealed
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-crossplay-details-revealed/
The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare open beta running this weekend will include crossplay between PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. We've previously theorized that the feature won't mean much to PC players because it's input-based, meaning that players will be matched up based on whether they're using controllers or mouse and keyboard. We may have been a little premature on that, though, as Activision revealed today that mouse and keyboard control setups will be officially supported on consoles.

Anthem will get 'seasonal updates' rather than the previously announced acts
https://www.pcgamer.com/anthem-will-get-seasonal-updates-rather-than-the-previously-announced-acts/
In February, BioWare explained how Anthem's post-launch content would be released in updates called "acts," which would add new locations, features, and character interactions, and ultimately culminate in a world-changing "Cataclysms" that would set the stage for the next act.
Today, BioWare announced that plans for future Anthem acts have been shelved so developers can work on more long-term, systemic fixes to the game. Instead, Anthem will get "seasonal updates" that head of live services Chad Robertson said "will deliver challenges and chases similar to what you’ve seen, and are built around some fun themes we’re bringing to the game."

Subnautica: Below Zero update adds very large ice worms and new areas
https://www.pcgamer.com/subnautica-below-zero-update-adds-very-large-ice-worms-and-new-areas/
Subnautica sequel Below Zero, which is in early access on Steam and the Epic Store, now includes an above-zero chance of encountering a leviathan-class Ice Worm. It takes a very large worm to earn the 'leviathan' descriptor, and from the looks of the trailer above, our new friend doesn't disappoint.

You can get a free Sea of Thieves cannon skin on Talk Like a Pirate Day
https://www.pcgamer.com/you-can-get-a-free-sea-of-thieves-cannon-skin-on-talk-like-a-pirate-day/
International Talk Like a Pirate Day is a parody holiday type of thing thing, recognizable by the way that people celebrating it say "Arr" and "Yarr" occasionally over the course of the day.
The day is relevant to us right now because when it comes around this year, Sea of Thieves players can score Obsidian cannons by watching certain Twitch streams with their linked accounts. The guns are a nice enough piece, I suppose—a little dull compared to some, really—but the hook is that they'll be part of a set, along with the Obsidian figurehead, hull, sails, and flag that Rare gave away during a Twitch Rivals event in June. Those items aren't available for purchase from the Sea of Thieves shipwright, and I don't expect the cannon skin will be either, so if you want it, this is your chance.

Rockstar rolled out a new game launcher for PC today, which came with a free copy of the great Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas—and, shortly after people got their hands on it—reports that it also changed the Steam version of Grand Theft Auto 5 to disable offline mode. Rockstar has confirmed that this did in fact occur, but said that it's a bug, not an intentional modification, and that no changes were made to the GTA5 DRM.

Free adventure Penitent Dead evokes FromSoftware's atmospheric PS1 games
https://www.pcgamer.com/free-adventure-penitent-dead-evokes-fromsoftwares-atmospheric-ps1-games/
Fear not, I'm not about to compare the excellent Penitent Dead to Dark Souls. That would be rather lazy. No, I'm going to compare it to King's Field, and to Shadow Tower, two of FromSoftware's early games. It's the closest a game has come to the smeary, leaden ambiance of those atmospheric PlayStation games, and I love it for it, even if I couldn't figure out how to end the game (or even if I could).

Fanatical has three new bundles added to the Bundlefest, and all of them are of the Pick & Mix kind:

SOFTWARE & DRIVERS

The Epic Store library finally has a list view
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-epic-store-library-finally-has-a-list-view/
Steam's big library overhaul entered beta earlier this week, but not to be outdone, Epic has also updated its store with a new library feature: there's a list view now.
It's not quite as comprehensive as Steam's update, though with far fewer games than Steam, the Epic Store doesn't exactly need a way to sort by tags. The new list view is pretty basic: you can sort games alphabetically or by selecting "recent," which I assume bumps games you've recently launched or purchased to the top. You can also filter out uninstalled games.

Rare achievements glow in the new Steam library
https://www.pcgamer.com/rare-achievements-glow-in-the-new-steam-library/
Steam's new library redesign, which is still in beta, changes what's visible on individual game pages (beware scrolling down if you don't want to see a bunch of guides and community content with spoilers), adds organizational options like dynamic collections, and generally moves toward a modern 'big portrait icon' style.
But as well as that, any achievement less than 10% of players have will now glow. This is visible only on said game's library page, so the effect won't show up if you check a game's individual achievement page or if you happen to have an achievement showcase on your profile, which is perfectly normal and not showing off. Oh, and the glow won't be animated if you selected "low performance mode" in the settings.

French courts rule that Steam cannot ban resale of 'dematerialised' games
https://www.pcgamer.com/french-courts-rule-that-steam-cannot-ban-resale-of-dematerialised-games/
After a long legal battle that we first covered back in 2015, French consumer rights association UFC-Que Choisir claim to have won a major victory against Valve, as reported by French games site Next Inpact. The French courts have ruled that under European law, users should be allowed to re-sell 'dematerialised' non-physical goods, specifically digital games sold via Steam.
French site Numerama also covered the story in their business section, expounding on the nature of the ruling. Reddit user "Shacken-Wan" ran the article via translation site DeepL, and shared the resulting English text on Reddit.
Current Steam store policy is that resale of games or accounts is strictly prohibited, and any attempt to do so can result in your account being banned. If the ruling is upheld, then that has to change or else Valve will face fines.

Little Misfortune, the game about a girl and the voice in her head, is out today
https://www.pcgamer.com/little-misfortune-the-game-about-a-girl-and-the-voice-in-her-head-is-out-today/
Little Misfortune is an oddball, oddly creepy adventure game from Fran Bow studio Killmonday Games about a little girl and her friend, Mr. Voice, who convinces her to embark upon a quest in the woods to discover Eternal Happiness. It looks and sounds kind of cute, as long as you don't pay too much mind to the underlying concept of a young girl being led into the forest by a voice in her head. That's pretty clearly disturbing—and, as far as I can tell, far closer to what the game is actually like.

Batman is coming to Fortnite, dataminers find
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-batman/
Batman—yes, the Batman is coming to Fortnite, because we've already done Marvel, Borderlands, the NFL, Jordan, so why not?
Dexerto notes that Batman Day is September 21, and the very recent v10.31 update appears to include some very Batman-looking items and one very big change to a portion of the map. It looks like Epic Games and DC are looking to celebrate the caped crusader with an in-game event similar to prior promotions.

After 2 months of dangerous surprises, EVE Online is calming down
https://www.pcgamer.com/after-2-months-of-dangerous-surprises-eve-online-is-calming-down/
Two months ago things started getting really scary in EVE Online. First, the player-controlled territories of null-sec fell victim to an unprecedented alien invasion. Soon after, CCP Games disabled a key feature of EVE Online's in-game chat interface, leaving players in a much more dangerous world. Now the changes, which CCP says were "planned as a temporary event," are being reversed.

Destiny 2: Forsaken now includes the Forsaken Annual Pass
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2-forsaken-now-includes-the-forsaken-annual-pass/

Daymare: 1998, a survival horror by the Resident Evil 2 Reborn team, is out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/daymare-1998-a-survival-horror-by-the-resident-evil-2-reborn-team-is-out-now/
Resident Evil 2 Reborn was a shortlived fan project that aimed to recreate Capcom's classic in Unreal Engine 4. Capcom inevitably shut it down, in no small part because it was working on its own Resident Evil 2 Remake. But out of the ashes of Reborn, studio Invader Games commenced work on its own third-person survival horror, Daymare: 1998. As of this week, it's available on Steam.

Naval battle royale Maelstrom goes free-to-play
https://www.pcgamer.com/naval-battle-royale-maelstrom-goes-free-to-play/
Remember Maelstrom, the last-ship-standing game of naval combat that entered Early Access last year? The one where you can be captain of an orc ship pulled by giant sharks, and the shrinking battle-royale circle is a section of Dead Water hiding a colossal sea monster that will just straight-up eat you?

Twitch has acquired the Internet Gaming Database
https://www.pcgamer.com/twitch-has-acquired-the-internet-gaming-database/
Streaming service Twitch has acquired the Internet Games Database. The IGDB is basically the IMDB of videogames, a directory of information about games ranging from their ratings, genres, and themes to crowdsourced data about how long they take to beat, and lists of reviews (which annoyingly include include pre-release previews and impressions as well). Digital storefronts can pay to use IGDB's API, which is how the database makes money.

Crying Suns lands in stores, a grim story-driven FTL-like
https://www.pcgamer.com/crying-suns-lands-in-stores-a-grim-story-driven-ftl-like/
There are few scenarios in games as inherently doom-laden as being told you're a (mostly) expendable clone. Granted, in Crying Suns—released today from new studio Alt Shift—you're an important clone. A famous admiral, even, rolled out along with a ship and crew as a last ditch effort to restore power to an entire (ostensibly evil) galactic empire that has mysteriously gone dark. But you're still a clone, and that means that you're probably going to be exploding at some point.

The latest Fortnite skin asks 'what if 7UP was a person?'
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-limelight-skin/
Limelight, the newest Fortnite skin available in the item shop, is here to make you wonder what a can of Sprite or 7UP would look like if it took on human form. To be fair, it looks pretty good. I haven't seen pants this green since allergy season in middle school.

Just when I was running out of things to see and spaceships to loot in Void Bastards, developer Blue Manchu drags me back in. The System Shock-inspired shooty roguelike rolled out its first paid DLC yesterday, Bang Tydy, adding a new faction of robotic cleaners to the Sargasso Nebula alongside a generous slab of free goodies.

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/six-batman-games-are-now-free-on-the-epic-games-store-metro-2033-redux-free-next-week/
Last week, we assumed that a Batman collection would be available for free on EGS. And it appears we were right. Epic Games has just announced that six Batman games are now available for free on the Epic Games Store. These six Batman games are basically the three Rocksteady Batman games and the three Lego Batman games.
In other words, PC gamers can get for free:

  • Batman: Arkham Asylum
  • Batman: Arkham City
  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Lego Batman
  • LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes
  • LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham

Nvidia's cloud gaming platform gets a more user-friendly redesign
https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidias-cloud-gaming-platform-gets-a-more-user-friendly-redesign/
When we tested Nvidia's cloud gaming platform, GeForce Now, back in February, the user interface was organized as if you were opening up Netflix or Amazon Video for the first time. The most popular games were splayed across the top, and then categorized into groups like new releases and free-to-play. Nothing was alphabetized. If you wanted to easily see if GeForce Now supported your game, you'd have to go to the https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/products/geforce-now/supported-games/">Nvidia website, where the entire catalog was and still is alphabetized. Not terribly inconvenient, but not exactly user-friendly either.
Once the service's catalog of games grew to more than 500, it became even more difficult to search for games. If you had already played a game, it was added to an easily accessible personal library. Finding a specific new game was a challenge with the way everything was categorized, but at least there was a search bar in the app itself. Now, Nvidia has completely changed that with its new GeForce Now UI design, saying it brings "search front and center."
Update 9/19: Nvidia discovered a bug that would negatively impact users' experience, so its holding off on the rollout until it can fix and test the new UI. It could take a couple of days before it's totally fixed, but GeForce Now members can still use the current version without issue in the meantime.

Valve will appeal French courts ruling that Steam cannot ban resale of 'dematerialised' games (updated)
https://www.pcgamer.com/french-courts-rule-that-steam-cannot-ban-resale-of-dematerialised-games/
Original story: After a long legal battle that we first covered back in 2015, French consumer rights association UFC-Que Choisir claim to have won a major victory against Valve, as reported by French games site Next Inpact. The French courts have ruled that under European law, users should be allowed to re-sell 'dematerialised' non-physical goods, specifically digital games sold via Steam.
Update: Valve's Doug Lombardi responded to our request for comment with the following statement:
"We disagree with the decision of the Paris Court of First Instance and will appeal it. The decision will have no effect on Steam while the case is on appeal"
>> Not surprising at all.

Steam gets a new 'Deep Dive' discovery tool and Community Recommendations
https://www.pcgamer.com/steam-gets-a-new-deep-dive-discovery-tool-and-community-recommendations/
More work is afoot in the Steam Labs, the not-so-secret facility where Valve tinkers on new Steam features that could benefit from hand-on use but aren't quite ready for prime time. Experiment number five is called Deep Dive, and is actually based on a project called Diving Bell released in July by indie developer and occasional PC Gamer contributor Lars Doucet.
Diving Bell was designed as a new discovery tool for Steam, similar to the Interactive Recommender but with an "entirely opposite" approach. Instead of coming up with recommendations based on your Steam history, it begins with a game you specify and then uses "dumb algorithms" to come up with a group of recommended games based on preset criteria.

Valve makes more changes to Steam's Discovery update to address visibility complaints
https://www.pcgamer.com/valve-makes-more-changes-to-steams-discovery-update-to-address-visibility-complaints/
Last week, Valve made some changes to Steam's mysterious algorithms intended to give users better recommendations for games they might like. Shortly after it went live, though, some indie developers complained that their games were actually being shown less than they had been prior to the update, and were suffering a subsequent reduction in wishlisting. But other developers said they hadn't noticed anything untoward, making it hard to know for certain whether something had actually gone wrong.
Valve said at the time that it had its finger on the pulse, and that "new features and tweaks are always likely after initial release." Today it acknowledged that one of the changes in that update has resulted released games being favored over upcoming games in the "More Like This" section of the store, and announced new changes aimed to address that.

Get ready for a game about hunting the most dangerous prey of all: mushrooms
https://www.pcgamer.com/get-ready-for-a-game-about-hunting-the-most-dangerous-prey-of-all-mushrooms/
I've collected my share of mushrooms in videogames: they're used for everything from potion-making to nourishment to crafting poisons to making an Italian plumber double his height. But Morels: The Hunt is a game specifically about collecting mushrooms. Explore the wilderness of the United States, hunt and gather different mushrooms, experience different regions and seasons, and use the in-game camera to photograph wildlife. Perhaps it's due to the pressures of modern living, but I've got a soft-spot for harmless, absurdist comedy a mile wide, which is why Later Alligator—out today—has been on my personal wishlist since it was announced. It's a mystery point-and-click comedy adventure about a city full of awkward cartoon alligators. https://www.dsogaming.com/news/borderlands-3-has-sold-in-5-million-copies-highest-selling-title-for-2k-games-on-pc-in-a-five-day-window/
2K Games announced today that Borderlands 3, the latest entry to the renowned shooter-looter franchise, has achieved multiple record-setting milestones for both the series and label following its worldwide release on Friday, September 13th.
Within its first five days of launch, 50 percent more consumers purchased Borderlands 3 versus sales of Borderlands 2. Thus, Borderlands 3 is the fastest-selling title in 2K’s history. Moreover, it is the highest-selling title for the label on PC in a five-day window.
In addition, Borderlands 3 has sold-in more than 5 million units in its first five days. This leads the Borderlands franchise to generate more than $1 billion in Net Bookings and becoming the second franchise in 2K history to achieve this milestone.

Warner Bros and Funcom have removed Denuvo from Batman: Arkham Knight and Conan Unconquered
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/warner-bros-and-funcom-have-removed-denuvo-from-batman-arkham-knight-and-conan-unconquered/
Now here is something really interesting. Yesterday, we informed you about the free Batman giveaway on the Epic Games Store. And today, we are happy to report that Warner Bros has removed Denuvo from that particular version.
What this ultimately means is that the EGS version of Batman: Arkham Knight is the definitive version. Surprisingly enough, the Steam version of Batman: Arkham Knight still features Denuvo. Warner Bros has not stated why the Steam version still has the controversial anti-tamper tech.
Similarly, Funcom has removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from Conan Unconquered. Conan Unconquered is free to play this weekend on Steam, so this is good news for those that want to purchase it.

First Nude mod released for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/first-nude-mod-released-for-sekiro-shadows-die-twice/
Modder ‘ApolloHoo’ has released the first nude mod for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice. As its title suggests, this naked characters pack replaces the player’s model with naked body versions of Wolf, Emma and Genichiro.
Going into slightly more details, ApolloHoo used the naked 3D models from Dark Souls 3. As such, there are some slight visual inconsistencies. You can easily notice the new “body texture” by looking at the characters’ neck. Still, and since this is another game from the same developer, these body textures work pretty good.
In order to install it, you’ll have to first install “Mod Engine “. Then, you’ll have to downnload “DS3 and Bloodborne Material Pack “, and copy the “parts” folder from the “Naked Characters Pack” into your own mod folder.
What’s also interesting here is that this first nude mod for Sekiro lacks some… special details. For instance, there aren’t any nipples on Emma’s model, and her lower body area is not THAT detailed. Furthermore, Wolf is wearing an underwear. As such, this mod is actually SFW.

Resident Evil 2 Remake Ultimate Trainer brings FOV tool, Universal Key, Manual Flashlight and more
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/resident-evil-2-remake-ultimate-trainer-brings-fov-tool-universal-key-manual-flashlight-and-more/
Modder ‘Raz0r’ has released the most comprehensive trainer for Resident Evil 2 Remake. This trainer/mod allows you to change the FOV camera, introduces manual flashlight, and allows you to swap character/outfits.
Furthermore, this trainer can allow players to walk through walls, can disable recoil, and can increase both player health and speed. Naturally, this trainer also adds some “cheats” such as Invisibility, One Hit Kill, and Infinite Ammo.
It’s also worth noting that this mod allows to edit the Inventory/Item Editor and brings some HUD adjustments. It also brings a universal key mechanic, freezing game timers and game difficulty adjustments.

Modder ‘D1v1ne122’ has released a new version of his must-have total overhaul mod for Fallout 4, Fallout 2287 – Nuclear Winter. This mod is for players that want to replay the game via some additional gameplay overhauls, or for those that want a completely different environment.
Fallout 2287 – Nuclear Winter pits the Sole Survivor against the bitter cold of Winter. This mod brings frosty aesthetics such as snow shaders, and visible breathing. Therefore, players will have to fight to stay warm with thick clothing and seek heat sources.
>> This mod is also available from Nexus Mods.

Get chased by Pennywise in this Resident Evil 2 Remake mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/get-chased-by-pennywise-in-this-resident-evil-2-remake-mod/
Mr. X sure gets a lot of makeovers. Resident Evil 2's lumbering monster has been given yet another horrifying new look, this time turning him into Pennywise the clown from the IT remakes. Check out the mod in action above.
Modder Marcos RC is responsible for this grinning nightmare, who looks right at home in his new job. Judging by the smile on his face, he's having a superb time. Though like Mr. X and Pennywise from the movies, he loses a lot of his menace when he gets close to you and starts throwing punches.
You can download the Pennywise mod from Marcos RC's Patreon (it's available to everyone), though I think this is one that I'll be skipping to save myself from the inevitable nightmares.

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/scott-snyder-creator-of-court-of-owls-all-but-confirms-batman-court-of-owls-by-wb-montreal/
In order to celebrate Batman’s 80th birthday, Warner Bros Montreal tweeted an image with its logo. Now I’m pretty sure that some may thought that this was a tease for its new Batman game. And apparently, it was.

Tamarin – Adventure Trailer
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/tamarin-adventure-trailer/
A new trailer for Tamarin came out last week. Tamarin features a unique gameplay mix that alternates between 3D-platforming and exploration, and third-person shooter gameplay. The game is inspired by the more open 3D adventures from Nintendo and Rare, and by nature and all the wonderful plants and animals in it.

https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/the-black-masses-gets-a-new-in-engine-teaser-trailer/
Brilliant Game Studios has released a new teaser trailer for its open world first-person fantasy co-op RPG, The Black Masses. New Need for Speed Heat video showcases its extended vehicle customization system
https://www.dsogaming.com/videotrailer-news/new-need-for-speed-heat-video-showcases-its-extended-vehicle-customization-system/
Need for Speed Heat releases on November 8th and a new video surfaced today, showcasing its extended vehicle customization system. Thus, we strongly suggest watching this as it will give you a glimpse at how you can customize your car.

UPDATE: Apparently this video is from Need for Speed Payback and not from Need for Speed: Heat. The YouTuber did not clarify that, which is really misleading. Since we don’t have any access to the game (meaning that we don’t know how the customization menu looks like in Heat), we were also tricked by this video. Shame on us, obviously.

Monday news, part two:

Suspect who DDOSed World of Warcraft Classic is arrested
https://www.pcgamer.com/suspect-who-ddosed-world-of-warcraft-classic-is-arrested/
Earlier this month, World of Warcraft Classic servers were hit with a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack that made reliably accessing its servers a struggle for many players across North America. And now, a Blizzard community manager followed up to say that after a brief investigation a suspect has been arrested.

Minecraft's new character creator is in beta and you can try it out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/minecrafts-new-character-creator-is-in-beta-and-you-can-try-it-out/
Minecraft is finally getting an actual character creator, and you can try it out by opting into the beta for version 1.13.0.15 if you're using the Windows 10 (Bedrock) version of the game.

Borderlands 3's first in-game event is called Bloody Harvest
https://www.pcgamer.com/borderlands-3s-first-in-game-event-is-called-bloody-harvest/
October is only ten days away, and that means that spooky in-game events will soon be slithering into every other online game you play. Borderlands 3 is one of them: The first limited time in-game event will be called Bloody Harvest and will bring with it a new mission, a new debuff, and of course new guns.
>> This article is from 3 days ago and, apparently, it will last roughly a week.

Overland, the strategy game about driving through the apocalypse with dogs, is out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/overland-the-strategy-game-about-driving-through-the-apocalypse-with-dogs-is-out-now/
After several years of development, a beta on itch.io, and silly bug fix notes on its Twitter account, Overland is finally out. The turn-based strategy game about driving across the US while avoiding creepy crawly aliens is quite tough, from what I've played so far. Don't let the dogs fool you. Everyone eventually dies or gets left behind in the apocalypse. Even the pups, I'm sad to report.

Mutazione, an adventure game set in a gossipy small town, is out now
https://www.pcgamer.com/mutazione-the-adventure-game-soap-opera-is-out-now/
Small towns are all full of drama and despite being hit by a meteor 100 years ago, it seems that Mutazione, the town that used to be a resort, is no different. You'll play as 15-year-old Kai who's moved to town to take care of her sick grandfather. While tending to him and his garden, Kai engages in other small-town activities like BBQs and band nights where she deals with all the local gossip.

Afterparty, the next game from Oxenfree's developers, will be out in October
https://www.pcgamer.com/afterparty-the-next-game-from-oxenfrees-developers-will-be-out-in-october/
The next game from Night School Studio, the developer of creepy adventure game Oxenfree, looks just as spooky as that game, but possibly funnier. The narrative-heavy adventure is about two best friends waking up in Nowhere, the outer ring of Hell, and drinking their way out.

Cube World launches on September 30
https://www.pcgamer.com/cube-world-release-date/
Cube World is a comeback story no one expected. After going silent over five years ago, people assumed this Minecraft-inspired RPG was vaporware, but earlier this month developer Wolfram von Funck shocked everyone by announcing that Cube World was indeed coming out, and now we know just how soon.

The Fortnite Batman crossover is live
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-fortnite-batman-crossover-is-live/
The Batman/Fortnite crossover we knew was coming thanks to a datamined leak is live now, on what is apparently Batman Day. It'll continue for the next two weeks (or what some of us call a "fortnight") during which Tilted Towers will be transformed into Gotham City.

Obsidian are hiring staff for their "next world class RPG"
https://www.pcgamer.com/obsidian-are-hiring-staff-for-their-next-world-class-rpg/
Last week listings were posted on LinkedIn for 11 new jobs at Obsidian Entertainment, the developers of RPGs like Pillars of Eternity and Fallout: New Vegas. The job listings range from lead narrative designer to user interface artist.

Star Trek Online players held a torchlit vigil for Aron Eisenberg in Quark's Bar
https://www.pcgamer.com/star-trek-online-players-held-a-torchlit-vigil-for-aron-eisenberg-in-quarks-bar/
Aron Eisenberg, who played the Ferengi Nog in all seven seasons of Deep Space Nine, as well as appearing as Kar in an episode of Voyager, died on September 21. The much-loved actor was honored by fans in Star Trek Online—in which he also appeared, voicing Nog during the tutorial—with a torchlight vigil at Quark's Bar.

Undertale meets Necrodancer in free game Everhood
https://www.pcgamer.com/undertale-meets-necrodancer-in-free-game-everhood/
Everhood is a lovely surprise. It's formatted like a 16-bit JRPG, meaning you'll walk around a world from a top-down perspective, chatting to locals and occasionally getting into battles. But every other aspect of JRPGs has been ditched: there are no stats, no items, no levelling, no spells. Instead, every battle is a tense rhythm game.

Buy Code Vein with your own blood
https://www.pcgamer.com/buy-code-vein-with-your-own-blood/
Code Vein, Bandai Namco's vampire ARPG, is out in a few days, and some of you might be able to get your hands on a copy by giving up some of the blood that you aren't using—you've got loads—to an extremely good cause.

Tenderfoot Tactics is a tactical RPG that cuts out random chance
https://www.pcgamer.com/tenderfoot-tactics-is-a-tactical-rpg-that-cuts-out-random-chance/
Tenderfoot Tactics is a tactical RPG full of magical goblins trying to outrun the end of the world. They'll have to fight to survive, but thankfully they've got flashy elemental powers that let them manipulate the battlefield and their attacks always hit.
