Yeah, graphically, Spiderweb's games still look a lot like Exile 1-3 (which came out for Windows 3.x and have since been remade and expanded as Avernum - twice!). However, they are hardly matched in their descriptions, world-building and RPG mechanics.

Too bad Phil Foglio doesn't make the illustrations for the skills anymore, those were bloody hilarious all the way back in Exile - and some a bit risqué, too.

Backed the game on Kickstarter, and it's an interesting premise, but haven't made it far enough yet to really tell if it's good or not. It's strongly simplified combat-wise compared to Avernum, but that's probably due to economy and diplomacy becoming more prominent.

Discord's Nitro program, a subscription-based service offers enhanced features on the platform and unlimited access to a library of indie and big-budget games, is being closed. Discord said today that it's "learned a lot" since Nitro went live in October 2018, including that the vast majority of Nitro subscribers don't actually play the games.
"So, after careful consideration, we won’t be hitting Continue when these contracts come up for renewal," Discord wrote. "The Nitro Games catalogue will be removed on October 15th, 2019."

Modder ‘Hasphat’ has released a new overhauld mod for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. This mod, which is 2GB in size, adds normal maps to all exterior environments. This basically means that there are normal maps for the terrain, rocks, trees, buildings, armors, weapons, and creatures.
Do note that the modder has used a number of texture packs in order to create this mod. As such, and in order to get the best possible results, Hasphat recommends using these mods before installing this “normal map” pack.

While Demon’s Souls has not been officially released on the PC, it appears that the first PC mods for it have surfaced online. To use these mods, you’ll need RPCS3 and a copy of the PS3 version of Demon’s Souls. In other words, these mods only work on the PC. So yeah, similarly to some Nintendo Wii/Gamecube games, PC gamers can now play modded versions of Demon’s Souls via its Playstation 3 emulator.

Though this addon is still in active development, IAmAMerchant creates a special window where you can list items in your inventory for sale along with a set price. Other players who have that addon will then see a special icon above your nameplate indicating that you got goods to sell.
Instead of automating the actual exchange of goods and gold, though, mod maker NukiWolf2 says they want players to still do that for themselves. So you'll still have to whisper that player, agree on a price, and then trade the items manually. "This is something I want people to still do on their own," NukiWolf2 wrote in a Reddit post about the mod. "This game lives on communication and player interaction!"

Most of the player complaints stem from the fact that Bethesda originally stated the Atomic Shop would only contain cosmetic items, and the fridge and scrap bot (along with repair kits and scrap kits added to the Shop earlier in the year) aren't cosmetics, they have an effect in the game world. (Though I just bought the scrap bot myself, and I can confidently state it is practically a cosmetic item because it barely collects anything. I can collect more scrap in two minutes than it can in an hour.)

I've read only now the news about Control getting a motion blur/film grain option. I remember playing the game just about at launch and being turned off by these atrocities. Who even thinks it is a good idea to transform "defects" and shortcomings on cinematic filming (motion blur, film grain, lens flares) into graphical options?
