I know it's wccftech but would be interesting if that stuff was true. A completely new Chip for a 2080Ti Super sounds lovely.

The current 2080Ti has 4x clusters disabled, so there was always room for nVidia to respond with something bigger.

If nVidia is building an entirely new chip from the ground up, then that certainly would be interesting and a deviation from the norm... But salt and all that untill proper confirmation.

I get what you're saying for the most part, but Lisa isn't running AMD like it was in the past. She doesn't want the company to be seen as second best, as the value option. She wants to be seen as the market leader in terms of performance, she's just using pricing right now to help them get back into the game with their CPU's, and it's working. You can bet if Ryzen didn't take back much market share, that when Zen+ launched, the prices would have gone up more, and even more with Zen 2 now. The only reason the prices have stayed so low is because it's working and they're gaining back market share and mind share.

If the GPU market isn't going to work like that for AMD, which it hasn't, then they might as well sell at higher prices and make as much money as they can that way. Gamers sure want AMD to keep pushing out reasonable price vs performance Radeon cards, but Lisa doesn't want to be seen as that type of brand anymore. She wants to be the next Nvidia as well. After trying your best and constantly being passed up for GeForce, even though your cards are much better bang for your buck, is going to get really tiring and old. How do gamers expect AMD to be able to at least match GeForce and offer cheaper cards, if the money Radeon brings in is just a tiny portion of what GeForce does due to sales and margins? Obviously AMD bet the company on CPU's, and that took away from the Radeon budget big time, and led to the miracle of Ryzen luckily, partially due to Intel being asleep at the wheel. Now they are supposed to do the same with Nvidia even though they are hydrated and focused like an F1 driver?

If AMD is smart, and Nvidia is really that greedy, AMD will use this 5700 pricing against Nvidia. Now that the price of the 2000 series doesn't really have to drop anymore because of the 5700 pricing, even though it should, if Nvidia launches the Super series, and just increases the prices for those cards, it would and should look really bad on them. If AMD is really smart, they will then immediately drop the pricing of the 5700 series by $50 to $100, basically forcing Nvidia to drop the pricing of the regular 2000 series by the same amount. However, Nvidia won't drop the price of their newly launched Super series, and even if gamers don't buy the 5700, they will buy the regular 2000 cards instead, which won't be good news for the brand new Super series sales. This will hurt Nvidia's image as well as stock price, which have both taken hits already over the last year.

For all we know, AMD's ray tracing tech may be much better than Nvidia and will allow them to take over the performance crown, and based on the existing GPU market, AMD could make a killing in terms of profits if this plays out. Just imagine if there is a 5800 and/or 5900 series yet to come. It's also very well possible that AMD may not take the performance crown from Nvidia, but might just go toe to toe again, year after year, in which case they can just remain $50 cheaper at all times. For the low to mid range gamers, they can buy the Intel GPU's supposedly coming out next year.

Intel will come back in terms of CPU's, but based on the past, they don't always come out with newer better tech than the competition. Not to mention that AMD is making seriously good money already, and will just increase that with Zen 2, and likely for another few years anyway. Under Lisa, you can bet they aren't slacking on Ryzen's future, and odds are good that they're already planning beyond that, knowing Intel is no doubt planning a competitive return.

AMD rebranding GPU's every year hasn't helped matters, nor has their insistent reuse of GCN.

AMD had all the opportunities this time around to 1-up nVidia.
They had access to 7nm first, they have access to HBM2 4096-bit... And nVidia didn't have a giant leap in performance due to investing silicon into Ray Tracing...

This year was literally the year AMD could have 1-upped nVidia like they did with Intel. - It could have been another Radeon 9700 Pro or Radeon 4870 moment.

The issue is though... These things take years of planning, we are still feeling the effects of when AMD made Radeon it's own division again, so the decisions set in motion all those years ago is what we are seeing today, you would be surprised how little AMD, Intel or nVidia can react spontaneously due to the competition.

I mean heck, AMD is working on Zen 3, 4 and 5 right at this moment... The decisions made for those chips are the decisions they will stick with for the long term, irrespective of what Intel does, it's a game of long bets.

No that hasn't helped, but Nvidia trying to lock down brands to using only GeForce products, and apparently locking down the 3000 and 4000 naming scheme so Radeon couldn't use it against them like AMD did against Intel, didn't help much either.

Depends on what you consider one upping. If GeForce has higher performing products, but are seen as too expensive, just because they have new tech, useful or not, is that one upping the competition? I'd say it's more greed than anything, and yet they get away with it for the most part. Radeon could have one upped Nvidia with the 5700 series pricing, but what about a couple of months after launch when the Super series drops with higher performance that one up's the 5700?

Planning is a problem yes. More so in terms of tech, and less about pricing, yet that pricing is tied to that tech, especially at the lower margin end. There are things like Lisa saying her and her team were extremely aggressive with Zen 2 in terms of advancements and pricing, so the road map can be sped up or slowed down somewhat. Steam In-Home Streaming is now available outside the home
https://www.pcgamer.com/steam-in-home-streaming-is-now-available-outside-the-home/
Steam In-Home Streaming, which lets you stream Steam games between devices that share a network, has "experimentally" been unshackled and is now available outside the home, too. Given the change, it's got a new name, Steam Remote Play, and you can try it out now.
As long as both devices you're running Steam on have a good connection and are close to a Steam datacentre, you should be able to stream games between each other wherever they are. You'll probably still want a wired connection, though. Even with a 5GHz router, I've found playing flashier games over wi-fi comes with too many concessions.

Fallout: New California features a huge world (around 2/3rd the size of Fallout: New Vegas’ map), offers from 6-8 hours to 15-30 hours of new gameplay, and packs 13 ending. Furthermore, this mod sports 16942 lines of dialogue (14877 of which are voiced by characters and non-repeating from 60 volunteer voice actors), new textures and meshes, and 48 main quests.
Version 2.2.1 improves overall performance by optimizing Landscape normals from uncompressed to DXT1, optimizing some LOD textures and cut LOD atlas to half its previous size, making LOD for large pieces at Angel Breakers, reducing lighting and graphics load in The Father’s den, and reducing lighting load around Union City.

Total War collides with Mortal Kombat in this Medieval 2 mod
https://www.pcgamer.com/total-war-collides-with-mortal-kombat-in-this-medieval-2-mod/
The Mortal Kombat universe, now that I'm forced to think about it, is a surprisingly fertile setting for some Total War. You've got memorable factions with lots of distinct traits, constantly shifting allegiances and several realms where the most popular occupation seems to be 'martial artist'. Mortal Kombat Konquest TW should fit right in.
It's a Mortal Kombat overhaul mod for Medieval 2, from modder Kirukato. They posted some work-in-progress videos last year and this month announced plans for it, along with some new screenshots.

https://www.pcgamer.com/dontnods-twin-mirror-delayed-will-launch-next-year-as-an-epic-store-exclusive/
Twin Mirror, the new game in the works at Life is Strange studio Dontnod, is "a story-driven investigation game" rooted in film noir about a journalist named Samuel Higgs, who discovers strangeness afoot when he returns to his hometown to attend the funeral of his best friend. Gameplay revealed in an October 2018 trailer struck me (in a good way) as kind of a mashup of Life is Strange, Alan Wake, and maybe Beyond: Two Souls.

When you didn't plan on pushing out 6 and 8 core mainstream CPU's initially, and your 10nm process ends up delayed, you very well may end up maxing out your 14nm manufacturing process and have shortages, because you decided to compete with your new competition in terms of core count.

According to the modder, the upcoming version of HDRP will feature improved textures for all terrain/rocks surfaces (excluding Toussaint as these will be done in BaW Update after this release). Furthermore, the reworked textures have much better quality and they look less flat than original ones.

The Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition is a mod that overhauls lots of game mechanics, Version 4.47 available for download
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/the-witcher-3-enhanced-edition-is-a-mod-that-overhauls-lots-of-game-mechanics-version-4-47-available-for-download/
Back in May 2018, we informed you about a complete and comprehensive rework of The Witcher 3 that aims to offer a much higher quality experience than the original game ever could. Created by the dedicated W3EE Mod team, this mod has been further enhanced this past year and a new version of it was released yesterday.
The Witcher 3 Enhanced Edition is a complete overhaul of most of the game’s mechanics and systems, promising to offer great depth and stimulating gameplay. The mod was designed with realism in mind, but in keeping with the spirit of actually having fun in a game, thus keeping tediousness to a minimum while simultaneously trying to offer enticing and somewhat realistic gameplay to the player.

Command & Conquer: Generals mod removes the 30fps lock, completely unlocks the framerate [UPDATE]
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/command-conquer-generals-mod-removes-the-30fps-lock-completely-unlocks-the-framerate/
Now here is a pleasant surprise. Modder ‘VampireMonkey’ has released a brand new mod for Command & Conquer: Generals that removes the 30fps lock and completely unlock the game’s framerate. This basically means that you will finally be able to enjoy the first 3D Command & Conquer game at really high framerates.
UPDATE: It appears that this mod breaks the game speed as higher framerates speed up the entire game. Some users have reported that by using VSync it’s possible to get a smoother gaming experience (though the speed up issues may still be present for those gaming on 120hz or 144hz PC monitors).

https://www.dsogaming.com/news/fan-creates-a-super-mario-bros-battle-royale-pc-game-that-is-completely-free-on-your-browser-right-now/
Battle royale is the next big thing in video-games as more and more developers add this type of multiplayer to their games. Now while some hate this new trend, we have to say that we were shocked to learn that a fan has created a freeware version of the classic NES version of Super Mario Bros on the PC that allows multiple gamers to play simultaneously, called Mario Royale.
Mario Royale is created by “InfernoPlus” and is described as a fully recreation of the classic Super Mario Bros game on the PC that works on every browser, is free to play, and is available right now on its official website.

Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes “remastered” thanks to this ESRGAN AI-enhanced Texture Pack
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/metal-gear-solid-twin-snakes-remastered-thanks-to-this-esrgan-ai-enhanced-texture-pack/
Reddit’s member ‘tophergopher1 ‘ has released a beta version of his ESRGAN AI-enhanced Texture Pack for the Nintendo GameCube remake of the first Metal Gear Solid game, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid game, created by Silicon Knights and Konami Computer Entertainment Japan for the Nintendo GameCube. This version featured new cut-scenes, new models and new animations, as well as new gameplay mechanics that were similar to Metal Gear Solid 2.
Since this is a beta release, gamers may discover various bugs and glitches. For example, a couple of textures – like the door panels – have graphical issues and other textures got cropped or had a bigger font text than the original versions. The good news is that tophergopher1 aims to release a new version of this pack. The new pack will take advantage of the newer ESRGAN, and promises to fix any tiling issues that are still present.

Skyrim's best religion mod receives overhaul, adding new gods and divine visions
https://www.pcgamer.com/this-skyrim-mod-adds-a-role-playing-system-for-religion-letting-you-please-or-anger-the-gods/
You might've heard of an ambitious Skyrim mod called Religion that completely changes the way you interact with the gods of Tamriel—it's one of the best mods for Skyrim. With the mod installed all your actions, from the crimes you commit to the armor you wear, affects the way individual gods view you, and they can either bless you or curse you as a result. The whole mod has just been overhauled for its version 3.0, adding religious visions and new gods called Ancient Spirits, as well as the 13 Constellations.
It's an incredibly deep system with lots of moving parts, and you can have multiple blessings—or curses—at the same time. All of the gods are looking for different things, and you'll get clues about their desires through visions. To receive visions, you'll first have to worship them at set points in the world, which increases their disposition towards you based on the amount of in-game time you spend worshiping them (don't worry, you can press T to wait if you want to rack up many hours at once).

Brutal Doom has a new trailer to celebrate the v21 Gold release
https://www.pcgamer.com/brutal-doom-has-a-new-trailer-to-celebrate-the-v21-gold-release/
Brutal Doom v21 Gold came out in May of this year, but what it really needed to make that announcement memorable was a bold, blood-soaked trailer with a bangin' metal soundtrack. And now it has one.
The gold release trailer shows off plenty of Brutal Doom's additions to the base game, like faster weapon-switching animations so you can combo guns, revamped melee combat that includes kicks capable of pushing enemies away, a female player voice option, and optional improvements to fill out some of those empty outdoor spaces on certain maps.

Keanu Reeves says videogames don't need Hollywood stars
https://www.pcgamer.com/keanu-reeves-says-videogames-dont-need-hollywood-stars/
For my money, the absolute highlight of E3 was the Keanu Reeves reveal during the Cyberpunk 2077 segment of Microsoft's press event. Ending the trailer with the Keanu reveal was genius, and bringing him onto the stage (especially after keeping the whole thing so completely secret) was inspired. It was obviously a huge win for CD Projekt, but in the big picture, was it really necessary? Does the presence of major movie stars help to "legitimize" videogames as mainstream entertainment?

How Doom Eternal avoids the reboot's multiplayer mistakes

Doom's multiplayer didn't strike a chord like its relentlessly fast and bloody singleplayer campaign. After all the solo thrills, it was just, well, dull, and id Software knew it. id is keen to avoid the same missteps in Doom Eternal's recently announced Battlemode, and it has a clear idea of why the reboot's PvP shootouts didn't work.

Held as part of the company's ongoing effort "to improve the player experience by combating in-game behaviors that make people feel threatened or unsafe," the event included discussions about the impact of bullying and online toxicity, what gamers can do to overcome its impact, and what EA has done and will do in the future to help eliminate it.

One Rainbow Six Siege player found a way to play as an entire team
https://www.pcgamer.com/one-rainbow-six-siege-player-found-a-way-to-play-as-an-entire-team/
Co-operation? Teamwork? Totally overrated. A YouTuber called Basically Homeless has proved that you can win matches in Rainbow Six Siege all on your own, even in ranked mode. All you have to do is get five PCs with separate Siege accounts all in the one room, get your mouse and keyboard hooked up to a switcher, and then somehow have the dedication to keep playing over the cacophony of five games going on at once. You can see how he managed it in the video above.

Earlier this year there were rumors that Microsoft was testing running Xbox One games natively on Windows, and we've long hoped to see the emulation it's accomplished on the Xbox One carry over to the PC. The console is already similar to a PC in both hardware and software, right?

There was significant licensing barriers for emulating Original Xbox games on Xbox 360... And again for Original Xbox and Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One... It's another kettle of fish bringing those efforts to the PC.

Would love to see it happen, but I think there are likely more important things for Microsoft to be worrying about, most Xbox 360 games are on PC anyway.
