My PSU is hissing. Sounds like a dial-up modem gone bad, really. I thought it could be a poorly connected power cable making electricity arch, but it doesn't seem to be the case. PC crashed soon after I started to run a stress test. Back to buying new parts, I guess?

I fear so. Do you have a spare PSU to use while you get a new one? Personally, I would get rid of the faulty one as soon as possible.

Please excuse my bad English.

Found this while wasting some time, and I thought it could be an interesting topic

And it's a real review: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197974906336/recommended/289070/

Doesn't 2K have enough with the money they get from the game and the tons of DLCs they're launching for it that now they're doing this? Seriously, they're going to far.

Damn, they actually had no shame to put something like that in EULA. Fuck'em.

My brother won't lend me his. So, no RE2 second run for Teddie here anytime soon. The shit thing is is that I'm exceptionally having lots and lots of spare time this week.

It's actually weird. You can notice the noise shifting about as the PC draws more or less power. I've had a PSU capacitor explode on me years ago, so I'm really wary of this stuff and have ordered a new one already.

Yeah. Don't stuff around with the PSU's. Always buy a quality unit.
A good unit should outlast multiple PC's.

I hope it arrives soon and that you can waste your free time put that spare time into good use.

And, once you build a new PC from the ground up, I'd keep the old PSU just in case. They're not that big.

SOFTWARE/DRIVERS

NVIDIA GeForce 418.91 WHQL available for download, does not fix DLSS blurriness in Battlefield 5 & Metro Exodus
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/nvidia-geforce-418-91-whql-available-for-download-does-not-fix-dlss-blurriness-in-battlefield-5-metro-exodus/
NVIDIA has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the NVIDIA GeForce 418.91 WHQL provides the optimal gaming experience when using DLSS and Ray Tracing in Battlefield V and Metro Exodus.
However, we can confirm that this driver does not resolve the blurry side-effects that PC gamers experience in both of the aforementioned titles when DLSS is enabled. As such, we strongly suggest avoiding DLSS until (and if) NVIDIA fixes the image downgrade-ation that is currently happening.
The NVIDIA GeForce 418.91 WHQL driver also fixes some lines appearing in the terrain with NVIDIA Control Panel Anisotropic filtering override enabled in Battlefield 5 and an event ID 14 error in event viewer logs when Digital Vibrance setting is changed on the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series.
Unfortunately, this driver does not resolve the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error message that a lot of NVIDIA gamers have been receiving in APEX Legends (for now, we strongly suggest using the 417.71 driver if you are playing Respawn’s free to play battle royale title).

AMD Radeon Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.2.2 optimized for Metro Exodus, Far Cry New Dawn & Crackdown 3
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/amd-radeon-adrenalin-2019-edition-19-2-2-optimized-for-metro-exodus-far-cry-new-dawn-crackdown-3/
AMD has released a brand new driver for its graphics cards. According to the release notes, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.2.2 driver adds support for the Radeon VII and is optimized for Far Cry New Dawn, Metro Exodus and Sid Meier’s Civilization VI: Gathering Storm.
Furthermore, this driver is also optimized for Crackdown 3 and improves performance by up to 5% on a Radeon RX 590 graphics card.
It’s also worth noting that this driver addresses some Radeon VII issues. For instance, it addresses a system hang when attempting to perform a timeout detection and recovery on Windows 7 system configurations, some line corruptions in APEX Legends, as well as some issues with the AMD WattMan.

MODS/EMULATORS

First nude mod released for Resident Evil 2 Remake
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/first-nude-mod-released-for-resident-evil-2-remake/
Well, it was bound to happen. The first nude mod for Resident Evil 2 Remake has just been released, allowing players to assume the role of a topless Claire Redfield. So yeah, we are not talking about a full nude mod but this is definitely something that some Resident Evil 2 fans will be interested in.
This topless mod basically replaces Claire’s Military outfit and all you have to do is download it and extract it to your RE2 directory. And that’s it.
(...)
Unfortunately for all the female gamers out there, there is no nude mod for Leon Kennedy at the moment. Now I don’t know if a modder will invest his/her time in order to release a nude mod for Leon as most gamers appear to be interested in female nude mods.
>> Look for this mod at Nexus Mods.

That has apparently fallen by the wayside, however, as the studio announced today that its next project will be a VR "rhythm shooter" for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift called Audica—and it will be out on Steam Early Access in March.

Ubisoft teases Rainbow Six Siege's Aussie operators with a surprisingly silly video
https://www.pcgamer.com/ubisoft-teases-rainbow-six-sieges-aussie-operators-with-a-surprisingly-silly-video/
Today's teaser for Gridlock and Mozzie, the Australian operators coming to Rainbow Six Siege in Operation Burnt Horizon, is short and not terribly informative, but it's also silly and fun, and takes a very different approach to showcasing its gun-slinging superstars than we usually see. I like it, and so here it is for you to enjoy too.

https://www.pcgamer.com/hollow-knight-silksong-announced-a-full-sequel-set-in-a-new-land/
Team Cherry has announced a sequel to the awesome metroidvania Hollow Knight last night with a trailer, a website, and some colourful screenshots.
In Hollow Knight: Silksong you play as the princess-protector of Hallownest, Hornet, who has been captured and taken to a different land. That means a new map full of beautiful art, boss monsters, and towns of cute bug people. It looks like the new setting will allow for more variety than Hollow Knight's melancholy ruined city. The website mentions "gilded cities, lakes of fire, and misted moors".

What time Anthem's servers go live and how to pre-load
https://www.pcgamer.com/what-time-anthems-servers-go-live-and-how-to-pre-load/
After a long wait, BioWare has finally confirmed what time Anthem launches and how to pre-load. To be clear, Anthem isn't actually releasing until February 22, a week from now, but those who subscribe to Origin Access can start playing tomorrow, February 15. If you're subscribed to Origin Access Basic, you can play for 10 hours before having to wait for the full launch. Those subscribing to Origin Access Premiere can start playing the full game without restrictions, though. It's very stupid, we know.

With the recent announcement of another Platinum game, I can't help but feel that PC will only ever have access to Platinum games via their much older titles, albeit remastered ones and nothing more.

That sucks tbh. I like when Platinum are given the reigns to what they want to make, but when they aren't, we get games like Korra, Turtles and Neir (PC port was trash and still not patched). Any of the actual good and decently running games they've done in recent years have been exclusively locked to one console.

I really do wish for a day when Platinum would make at least one non multiplayer driven (because that seems to be the thing when it comes to making one game PC exclusive these days and it's sad) game for PC, that isn't a console port of a game from 10 years ago.
