Only AC game I played on PC was 3, and I had issues getting my gamepad working too. Think I had to tick run the game in administrator mode, possibly steam as well. Even then a few times I'd boot the game and gamepad wouldn't work until I quit and launched it again.

I honestly gave up on 3 and went for Black Flag, which also had a myriad of issues to sort out. Again it not supporting 60+fps. I honestly just see Ubisoft fobbing over PC gamers for years. They never did apologise for calling the entire userbase as pirates all those years ago.

I've been able to play old games like Skyrim with little issues with K+M/Gamepad, and even then I'm given a myriad of options to work around said issues. With Ubisoft games, I just don't get that luxury, because they worked against giving said options to us, especially via DRM modules.

I've played 5 AC games on PC (AC 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, AC 3 and Black Flag), never had a problem with my wired 360 and One controllers.

I can confirm that mod for AC Odyssey is working (I had to manually enter path to ACO exe file when prompted, taking care of upper and lower cases...or I made typing mistake 3 times in a row when I was doing all lower case, not sure). So far, it seems that enemies don't level up, some of the regions that were already at my level returned to their initial cap. Wild life do seem to still level up with you though. I actually intend to carry on playing the game now, and see how the main story unravels, skipping all side content.

Just let it go, man ...

Ubisoft is arguably a big supporter of the PC platform since they support a studio (Blue Byte) who primarily only develops PC games and they have one of the best engines (Snowdrop) too for PC support ...

No offence, but I never did like your logic and reasoning skills.

I know how far up you can be with your own knowledge. I've seen you and Pem duke it out over the years and most of the time Pem's been on the mark.

I don't do devil's advocate and I don't like anyone trying to play one. Ubisoft has proven time and time again that they aren't for PC. Just look at the previous Anno game, and how watered down that was. The recent Creed games have console level parity, which is a fact of life, not some childish superstition (it was even confirmed with Origins via texture differences). Meanwhile, you can get 4k texture packs for multiple games out there, supported via the devs/pubs. Where's the official Creed 4k res texturepacks for their over-saturated series?.

Origins already looked extremely pretty and was easily one of if not the prettiest PC game released that year. I didn't really miss a texture pack because there weren't any glaring issues with them.

MODS/EMULATORS

You can only re-experience the classic Playstation games in their full glory on the PC, not on Playstation Classic
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/you-can-re-experience-the-classic-playstation-games-in-their-full-glory-only-on-the-pc-not-on-playstation-classic/
Earlier this month, we informed you about Playstation Classic using the mobile version of the PCSX emulator. Still, things got even worse today as it was revealed that a number of games that will be included in it are based on their PAL versions which were running at 50hz. Not only that, but even the NTSC versions appear to have framepacing issues, resulting in an underwhelming experience.
To be honest, I find it really ironic that the official Playstation Classic is using an open source emulator and that it is offering inferior versions of its games. In fact, and according to earlier reports, Playstation Classic runs the games worse than the original Playstation console.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Buster Sword comes to Monster Hunter World thanks to this mod
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/final-fantasy-7-remake-buster-sword-comes-to-monster-hunter-world-thanks-to-this-mod/
While Final Fantasy 7 Remake has not been released – and to be honest I don’t expect it to come out anytime soon – Final Fantasy fans can now use Cloud’s Buster Sword in Monster Hunter World. Created by modder ‘UberGrainy’, this new Buster Sword will replace other weapons and will let you use Cloud’s iconic sword.
The modder used DemonZariche and DoubleBrewski’s Oblivion/Skyrim Buster Sword model as a base (completely remapped and retextured), and the handle texture is from Phate3’s Dragonslayer. The blade length is slightly shorter than it should be, so that it doesn’t clip through the floor, and some parts still shine as if round when they should be flat, but they’re not that noticeable and he was close to the polygon limit of the sword.
>> Check the article for the link to the mod as well as the instructions to use it.

Fallout 76 features engine code and scripts that were taken directly from Fallout 4 and Skyrim
https://www.dsogaming.com/news/fallout-76-features-engine-code-and-scripts-that-were-taken-directly-from-fallout-4-and-skyrim/
The controversy surrounding Fallout 76 is huge, there is no doubt about that. When the game initially came out, a lot of players found some mechanics and visuals that looked similar to both Fallout 4 and Skyrim. And now we can safely say that Fallout 76 does in fact feature engine code that was taken directly from Fallout 4 and Skyrim.

I think we can all agree that Ubisoft does mostly beautiful games... that are sometimes void of purpose or content.

But despite that it's one of the few developers that, even with Denuvo and forcing UPlay, still supports PC gaming with all their big titles and even some exclusives. There are a lot of publishers that could learn a thing or two from them.

What?.

We still have publishers releasing games on PC that don't come with horrible 4 layer DRm and parity crap. WHy should anyone have to learn and copy Ubisoft?.

I'd rather Ubisoft take all the notes from GoG, why doesn't everyone take all the pages from GoG?.

You like DRM free gaming right?. I know you're likely to make an argument supporting your previous point, but I'll say this here and now. I completely disagree with any counter-point, that anyone should ever learn from a company that called an entire userbase pirates, as well as enforcing 4 layers of DRM, forcing a parity, while asking for more hardware power.

Also I just checked GMG, the latest Creed game is actually cheaper there than on Ubisoift's own storefront, amazing glorious competition right there...

Having your own storefront and selling your own games there just leaves you with more breathing room to not reduce prices.
