One thing I do find it funny in the way he's still stands on being ignorant (although does feel sorry for his behaviour) about the WiiU before trying it, atleast that's what I understand. I would actually apologize for my ignorants in full... Well, atleast he's made to be a believer. ;)

Yeah, most people that knock the gamepad either haven't tried it with a open mind, it isn't the ideal controller for every type of game but the potential is off the charts. Nintendo just needs to get the games out there and other developers interested in trying new things rather then everyone going for the homerun or monster dunk like the industry outside of the emerging Indie digital development scene seems to be gunning for.

The gamepad is one of the coolest video game features for a console I've ever seen. Offscreen play is freakin revolutionary for my life.

1) I can play while others are watching TV.
2) I can play at 2am in the morning in my bed with headphones on (while my gaming system is in my living room). This way I don't have to worry about waking anyone up, and I get to stay comfortable in my bed while having a console gaming experience.

So awesome.

wishing for 2011 horsepower in 2006 is a little too much

His #1 reason makes this seem like a fairly elaborate troll.

I agree the gamepad is a total game changer, off TV play as simple as it seems is genius. I love doing simple stuff like checking out Miiverse while others watch inane stuff on the TV, and the ability to watch Hulu on the gamepad while the TV is used for other tv is brilliant as well. This feature alone is well worth the cost of admission for me, and it doesn't even begin the cover the potential of in-game advancements.

He was wishing for 2006 horsepower in 2006. ;)

so, this guy is like... nobody?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Hear, hear.

I recently wanted to download Trine 2 before the sale ended, but I was too lazy to lug the entire system downstairs and hook it up to the HDTV.

So I just plugged the system into a power outlet upstairs and downloaded the game on the GamePad. No TV, no problem.

It's a tiny thing, but it's pretty cool :)

Somebody telling me the Wii U gamepad is not cool when:
I yearly travel from a US university to my home country in Central America with the console and games on my backpack to be sure I will never loose it.
With the Wii U, I just plugged in to the airport wall electric outlets to play Batman: Armored Edition in the 4 hours transfer I had. Now I can wait anything I have to, without getting bored.
