Yes, 3DS has the sales which vita can never dream of but Vita has its unique ablities to shine with home console quality games on the go that appear to world wide Consumers in future.

Okay now we are back to reality.  The Vita was supposed to be a decent competition to the 3DS but Sony fumbled.  They should have put better studios or more effort into it at the start.  They basically hoped 3rd parties would carry it (just like Nintendo hoped 3rd parties would fill in the empty slots for the 3DS and soon to be Wii U).  Sure there are great games on Vita and more coming in future.  However, Sony had multiple mistakes when dealing with the Vita.  There is still a lot of potential there and I expect at least 30m+ sales lifetime.  I actually expected more at the start considering the PSP has sold so well and is still continuing to sell pretty decently in some markets.  Sony dropped the ball on the Vita but the game isn't over.  The system isn't doomed but it will forever live in the shadow of the PSP.  I still expect Sony to release another hand held probably around 2016-17 or so.  Nintendo is probably gearing up for a release by then.  I give credit where credit is due.  Sony has been the best competitor for Nintendo in the hand held department.  Sega couldn't even dent Nintendo's dominance (I even had a Game Gear back in the day).  Sometimes I don't like seeing competitors doing good but reality is that you need strong competition or the dominant player gets lazy.

That article is a good one, the real competition for vita is tablets and Phones in terms of Power/users where 3DS is old formula of their first party games so this won't have any new innovative games from future except milking Nintendo IP's and this doesn't has hardware power to be future proof. From next year Vita gonna shine with its hardware with the games of Sony first party Studios(since they are busy now with PS4 launch for first year) and being a handy companion of PS4.

well at guess we will just have to wait and see but just remember the 3ds is actually getting alot of good 3th party support also which is helping it.

Yes, its getting good 3rd party support for games which are not like AAA most due to its hardware limitations. Its a good console to have fun but its not a console for future which can serve the quality of Next Gen titles. Vita can have PS4 games as well on the go if we connect to interent but 3DS can never have this ability.
I'm sure that Sony gonna support Vita better and won't give up because they have been supporting every console for atlease 7 years with their software and even we have Software coming for PSP still with third partities.

lol dude where have you been these last few game generations? power doesnt make a system. Games do! this has be proven time and time again.

isnt this pre price cut, SM3DL and MK7. Vita could have been bigger... than it had DOZENZ OF NO GAMEZZ (the absurd mem cost wouldnt have helped)

Yes, you're coreect. 3DS also did not sell well when its price was 250$ and it slashed that price( almost 80$ and also there is even cheaper vesions available for 140$ which is a price diff of 100$ between Vita and 3DS) within 6 months, but Vita still has its price 250$ and huge memory card prices(because sony is not in a good position to afford losses for some time so they are holding up till PS4 is released). I'm sure there will be a price for Vita and memory card when we get close to releases like Tearaway and Killozone which can give vita Huge boost.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Price cut happened in late July.  SM3DL and MK7 were announced and soon to be released before article was published.  So basically the writer didn't think the upswing in 3DS sales from the price cut would continue even after SM3DL and MK7 were released.

They didn't make any article with the huge success of Wii U?

You know that Sony is not in a good posistion financially right now and their First Party studios are focusing on PS4 which is the one Company is expecting to turn thier Financial position back to Normal soon, so they are not focusing much on vita with their studios but still they did support it to some extent with Games like Soul sacrifice, Sly 4, Tearaway, Killzone and also the PS+ in vita is great which is giving 2 free games every month.

I'm sure from next year we can have so much better support for Vita after PS4 is released then their First party resources are avaiable for Vita. Also there is a support for PS3 games streaming to Vita in 2014 through Gaikai for US. I think they are doing what they can do so far.

I'm asking same question you've aksed for Vita now i'm asking for Nintendo about their Wii U support which is selling even worse than Vita?

Funny you mention that question.  Sony focuses on PS4 first and then Vita.  Seems to me that Nintendo focused heavily on 3DS (especially this year releases) over Wii U.  So the companies have almost opposite strategies.  Sony is focusing on home console market first and then hand helds while Nintendo is focusing on hand helds first then home consoles.  I don't have too much more to add to this and must go to sleep soon.  I enjoyed the conversation and different view points discussed.
