Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Recouping Hardware Losses THrough Software Price-Hike

"Around the same time, the recommended retail price of Sony's first-party titles - which had since launch been slightly cheaper than those from third-parties - quietly went up, in Britain by a few pounds, in Australia by AUD$10."

What I love about this is Sony can claim that it is the stores raising the price to the customer, not Sony. Of course, I doubt that the stores will keep much of this recommended increase.

Which basically is what Michael Ephraim says "we realised we needed to increase our revenue on software".

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.

Eh, no big deal.

Next will be the premium charge for Home / PSN...

As in the Animal Farm book at the end after the farm animal revolt the pigs ended up standing on two feet and living in the house while the rest of the animals were back in the barn.

Any one who things games will stay at the same price are delusional, everything goes up in price including games unless you want to play nothing but half ass'd party casual mini games.

You should read a thread before posting honestly. It will keep you from looking like an idiot when you say ignorant and flat out wrong statements. Back in the days of NES/SNES/N64 games cost $70+ but then the PS came out and reduced the cost of games down to $50. It seems rather logical and historically supported to expect games to not start costing more at this stage.

I see nothing wrong with this. Plus, games cost more to make anyway. I recall spending $75 on SF2 for the SNES, and that back in the early 90's.

On the other hand, I rarely pay full price for a game as (by the time I get to it) it has usually fallen in price. Plus, I time a lot of heavy buying around the TRU buy "2 get 1 free" sales.
