Forums - Sony Discussion - Uncharted 4 - Francis Drake

Iceboy

Uncharted is the kind of game that doesn't conclude. There are so many uncharted(no pun intended) stories Naughty Dog has not told and settings Naughty Dog has not explored as well.

Why? Again an uncharted? The most overrated games this generation in my opinion. And yes, i've played them. Cool graphics, but for the rest. Mweh. No more pls. And then every week a new discussion on 3 released pictures from the game. Oh no, not again. On how naughty dog is the savior of the industry. Blahhhh. Come on, move on people. What are we doing as ''core'' gamers? Playing shooters an uncharted? Hoping for a glimpse of U4??

Oh man. Lets grow up and wait for Fallout 4.

Playing Uncharted makes you immature? What a dumb statement you got there. And if you open up your mind, and realize that Naughty Dog can make a drastic improvement in gameplay, The Last Of Us being an excellent example. And shooters aren't automatically bad games. Uncharted was good for it's time and well received, if they make another one it will continue to do so.

Pass. Will wait for Last of Us 2.

I don't see how a random ship's steering wheel being present in both Uncharted 3 and The Last of Us somehow automatically means there will be an Uncharted 4 and it will take place at sea, but whatever.

It's just an easter-egg.

An awesome easter-egg, without a doubt. Subtle, but unmistakable if one pays attention.

And Uncharted 4 in general? Yes, please !
I thought it was an awesome series. Naughty Dog did pretty much everything right, there's little I can fault in all three of the games. Some minor control issues here and there but that's probably due to my disagreeing with the PlayStation controller design and technology ever since the PS1 . I actually thought the story of Uncharted 3 was better than the one in 2, it felt a bit more 'real' and had a better thought out mythology and no silly reliance on some kind of mystical/magical item as the final treasure the antagonist is after. That said, Uncharted 2 is still the best game out of the three, it's by far the most polished and features the most interesting and challenging levels. In Uncharted 3, while beautiful (especially the desert chapters, but the ocean chapters too), I noticed quite some (minor) graphical and sound glitches here and there, so I hope they give the same amount of time and attention for U4 as they did for U2.

And, sh*t, I gotta get The Last of Us...

Naughty Dog really shot up my favored developers list this gen, I used to only have Crash 2 and 3 of theirs, but that line-up will soon be expanded by four games this gen!

Yeah but if you read the OP, that isn't everything behind why I said it. There is a ..Journalist (Hiphopgamer xD) that claims UC4 will take place on the sea. And then theres my theory regarding UC3s focus on the sea and why that could be used in UC4 (especially since the engine has been confirmed to be the same just upgraded). Then there is also the outfits that look like pirates that was taken from a TLOU making of video without it being in TLOU.

So yeah.. not just the steering wheel.

Still all circumstantial, and the 'journalist' is just guessing. It all means nothing. A certain aspect being present in a game is by no means proof that this'll be used in a hypothetical sequel. Those pirate outfits could just as well be cancelled concepts, nothing more. There's tons of stuff in many games that got dug up from the code or is seen in making-off's that never made it to their final games. All that could really be concluded is that some people at Naughty Dog have an interest in shipping and naval history.

I'm not saying it's impossible and you could very well be right, but personally I just don't see any real evidence beyond "they never done it before". I'm also not saying I wouldn't want this to happen .

UC4 reveal I bet during spike game awards just like the UC2/UC3

Although he claims someone told him that xD. But yeah, take it with a hugee grain of salt.

But yeah, it's simply a guess without any real evidence just mere hopes.

The question is, how would such a game play? Considering the weapons available during that time it would have to be completely different from the contemporary Uncharted games

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
