Forums - Gaming Discussion - Did MSFT "killed" Sony like they said they would

Just the usual petty E3 trashtalk from someone insignificant.

It was quite the opposite.

Microsoft got nothing. They killed themselves and their games offering while ok for the time beeing, wont get much better. Over the years we already know they will focus only on the 3 most sucessful franchises and ignore the rest.

Whoever jumps on the Microsoft Xbox180 ship not expecting this will be severily disappointed.

microsoft sure killed at E3 alright............. they killed themselfs

A load of BS like most of us knew it would be.

Sony didn't even reveal much of their software. There were also only a few cool Xbox One exclusives. Definitely not enough to "kill" anyone.

A load of BS... It was game after game after game after game. Most of you are Sony fans, right?

Certainly not enough to kill anything but it certainly wasn't BS.

It wasn't more impressive than any other e3 montage I've seen in my years. And I've seen many. Titanfall will go to PS4 eventually. Forza was expected. That leaves less than 5 noteworthy games. And of those, only 2 (Ryse and QB) are envy-inducing.

"...game after game after game after game." is a major hyporbole imho.

You want to see MS killing it, look at the first few e3's for the original Xbox. That was impressive. This, not really so much. And you can call me whatever you want - I've owned every MS console there was. The first one was the best: All those Sega games, KOTR, PGR, Halo (when it was still awe-inspiring and fresh), Elder Scrolls... Was just incredible. This is just ok in my book. Good enough, but not spectacular.

If you can't accept that opinion as legitimate, then there's nothing further to discuss. They needed another 3 or 4 high profile games (how about a friggin RPG eh?) in my book to have raised eyebrows.

No, it was above average. That's all.

Why are you disregarding multiplats? They made up 80% of the 360 and PS3 software sales and the trend is likely to continue. If you discredit multiplats so easily, FFXV and KH3 were arguably the 2 biggest games in the Sony line up for E3 and Nintendo would have just steam-rolled everyone.

Do you need to say "most of you are sony fans?" to dismiss someones opinion??? Can't you just give an opinion??? That's weak.

And game after game after game??? Yeah right. Keep fooling yourself. Forza 5? Everyone knew that was coming, Halo? It was just a trailer announcing that a game we all knew was eventually going to come out will come out. Ryse looks cool though,  so does QB. Sunset Paradise? No gameplay of a game that is going to bomb. In conclusion, i've seen far better E3's from MS. Finally, all theDRM shit buried all the games, so it definitelt didn't killed Sony.

For people claiming bullshit - I read that MS never said "kill" and it was a translation error so it is bullshit to call bullshit now but whatever... ;)

At that point most gamers wanted answers about the whole DRM situation. Granted, they did show more games than Sony did, But Sony answered all DRM questions. So, No MS did not kill Sony.

They won in terms of games but certainly didn't kill anyone especially with that price.
However, Sony was worse than them, and the only good thing from their conference was the PS4 price.
