Forums - Sony Discussion - Update: The Last of Us devs accused of using graphic designer’s Boston transit map without permission

VG247

A graphic designer is accusing The Last of Us developer Naughty Dog for using a Transit Map he created of the Boston subway system in the game.

According to his post, Cameron Booth said he wasn’t asked permission to use his work in the game, and he says he has reached out to Naughty Dog in order to find out how it ended up being used.

While Sony hasn’t responded to request for comment by GI International, it hasn’t taken long for the Internet mob to ascend on Booth’s Tumblr with pitchforks in hand.

While some say he should have handled the matter privately at first before “lambasting” the developer online, others have told him to be thankful someone uses a “map of a map” he created, and that he should just be happy his “work is good enough for someone to actually want to use and shut the fuck up.”

Gotta love the Internet.

Naughty Dog was recently scolded a bit by Ellen Page. They aren’t having a very good week it seems. We’ll keep you informed if anything more comes of this.

More free publicity for the game. Keep em comin, boys.

Update:

“I’ve just spoken with Naughty Dog over the phone in a very constructive conversation. Can’t say more at the moment, but it seems as if matters will be resolved to everyone’s satisfaction shortly,” Booth wrote. “I can say that they do acknowledge their error in using my map and were very apologetic for it. I likewise apologized for my initial vitriolic post.”

Ok enough is enough, I'm not playing The Last of Us anymore.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

"Why did they steal my damn map!"
