Forums - Sony Discussion - 20 Exclusives, 12 New Franchises Coming to PlayStation 4 in Year One

As a gamer, we are the winner. For the launch line up, I prefer Ryse, Forza 5 & DR3 on Xbox One more than KillZone, Knack & Drive Club on PS4. But I am certain sure that PS4's exclusive will be better than X1's exclusive in the future. And I am also certain sure that MS will quite improve their 1st party games in the next gen.

So again, gamers are winner and fanboys are clueless.

I would like to see a first party developed RPG.

Yeah, I always found it quite strange that Sony does not have any first party RPG (specifically WRPG), when they are so popular and profitable these days.

Well, some of the main devs who crafted PGR are reported to be working on DriveClub as well. I’d argue PGR was an ace game on the Xbox. We will see how they, along with the Motorstorm guys, perform on their first PS4 game.

inFAMOUS 2 was a combination of awful timing and horrible marketing, as usual. All of Sony's games performed either poorly or only respectfully around that time, and in no small part due to horrendous marketing. That includes Killzone 3 and LBP2 to a certain extent.

I find your list interesting. I noticed you listed “Black Tusk game” and a ‘New Zelda game” with a symbol since we have little information on them.. Wouldn’t it be fair to list the games the second and third teams at Naughty Dog, Guerilla Games, Santa Monica, Media Molecule, etc etc etc are working on? How about the recent resumes that surfaced in relation to LBP3?

The new Black Tusk Studios Game was actually teased at E3 by Microsoft with game footage...and the new Zelda was mentioned byy nintendo..Sorry joeflex your argument is invalid...

Actually, no. Look at the key. That is all. It is totally sound (and valid) based on that. It would be invalid if he narrowed the scope of his focus though.

And Nintendo said they are developing a Zelda game. Didn't Shuhei Yoshida confirm that every first party studio was working on a PS4 game? They may not have attached names to those games (like Nintendo), but that doesn't alter the fact they are in development based on his words. They showed a few, so it stands to reason to remaining studious are in fact producing PS4 games which are not confirmed. Nice try though, space cowboy.

They key is quite Clear...The Black Tusk Studio game is Untittled..And the Zelda Game based on the Early Zelda Tech Demo is not a 100 confirmed...What was confusing about that.....As for Sony Games, Well...Yoshida said they have alot of games coming but so far only the one's we saw at the PS4 annoucement followed by a Order 1886 reveal at E3..and that is it...You can't claim that that every first party studio should be added to list just cuz sony claims it has games in the works...Sony claimed that Project Trico, later dubbed The Last Gardian was in development for PS3 years ago...the next Gen of Playstation is coming and that game is still not out.... when Geoff from GT TV asked the Sony guy tretton about the Game coming to PS3 or PS4 he said the game was on haitus...and what is worst that game had a name and a trailer....

I made no such claim, but I am referring to the studious where mounting evidence for their PS4 titles has been gathering. Some of those studious have all but said they are working on new IPs for the next gen while others have been linked to projects inadvertently (such as their Linkedin profiles attaching them to next gen projects).  SSM, Guerilla and MM are among the former where members have acknowledged the existence of next gen games but have not given profound details - thus they exist, but are unconfirmed. Goes back to the key The existance of all the currently confirmed PS4 games was discovered along the same lines before the reveal (hints, tweets, interviews, Linkedin profiles, etc).

Black Tusk would still qualify even without the teaser since they acknowledged the title long before E3 – ‘the next Halo.”

Yoshida subsequently corrected Tretton and said it was not on hiatus or in any such state. I would take his word over Tretton’s given the nature of his job and the proximity he has to maintain with first parties.

Their claim on the title was not misleading. From what I understand, the title was simply too ambitious for the PS3 and that translated into our current dilemma. Fumito Ueda basically admitted the game was about complete in one of his recent (or relatively recent) interviews. I can’t speak for Sony, but I would think they moved the title (to PS4) due to those constraints, and the game will be subsequently released when they are ready to release. If FFXIII VS can come out of the doldrums then I am sure TLG will as well.

Also … your mention of that Zelda tech demo is irrelevant in this case since that has virtually nothing to do with the Zelda game in development. It was only a showcase of the Wii U’s prowess, and not exactly an indication of what the next Zelda will look like. This was confirmed by Eiji Anouma. The next gen Zelda will dawn a new style that is nothing like the aforementioned trailer.

They need at least 5 big AAA games in addition to the ones already announced till April 2014 to score the equaliser against the Xbox One.

So far, they are lacking behind. Big time.

hahahahah you are a really funny man. Sony has already announced more triple A exclusives for the PS4 then MS for the Xbone. And at least two of the announced PS4 exlusives look promising unlike Dead Rising 3 or Ryse.

Feel Free to name those PS4 AAA games.

- Killzone
- InFamous SS (and after InFamous 2 only sold 50% of the original, this is not a massive popular franchise)
- The Order
- Maybe DriveClub (The developers of Motorstorm never made a big AAA game before)

And Please don't come up with Knack.

Except for halo, those games will not sell well at all

Who gives a fuck? As long as they are good I am ine with them. And I really would like to have you Superpowers.

That's the thing - sales. I know sales are important, but in an argument like this I don't think it has much place. Fun factor should be the first thing one thinks of. The titles on the XBO look very interesting and have encouraged me to make a purchase. I couldn't careless if they sell well or not (I would like at least decent sales if the games are good to encourage a sequel though).

Awesome.  Can you please find a way to let me play the Xbox ONE exclusives ahead of time as well?

Can you give us more of your impressions from your playtime with all of these exclusives?

Of course... YouTube... the launch games were playable at E3.

No tell me what launch windows exclusive is better than Killzone or inFAMOUS? Sorry but the MS launch exclusives are weak.

I don't want to be debbie downer but u4 and havok were tech demos shown on the ps4 (Unreal 4, Havok Physics) and that's where they possibly got those from? Hopefully I am wrong.

Oh I know.  It's just a bit curious why they would put those up.  We will likely get a naughty dog announcemnent at VGA's. So we'll see then.  Havok I am doubtful since wouldn't that be some sort of copyright infringement on the name?
