Ur right they may sell at a small loss Iif they cut it by $100 next April but they should easily be able to make up for it with software sales. Pokemon X/Y, 3D World, Mario Kart 8, DKC Tropical Freeze, Wii Fit U, will all have long legs and sell well throughout next year. $50 cut in August/Sept wont have as many big releases to offset hardware losses so thats a big reason I think they may wait.

They won't be taking a loss if it is only a $50 reduction though.

With that said, you have made another excellent point about the longevity of Nintendo games and selling more systems will surely help sell games too. You have convinced me.

Nintendo should just do bundles and wait the Holiday out and price cut the deluxe Wii U to $250 in April.

I still think the 3DS should have a price cut around that time too. Maybe delay that one to Summer 2014 instead.

Yay I win and I agree with u about 3DS, I think a small $20-30 cut will come sometime next year, probably along with a redesign of the smaller model

With PS4 being $400, I'm not buying a Wii U until it's either $250 or until X comes out.

Desktop: AMD Phenom X4 955, ATI Radeon 7950 :: Laptop: Intel i7-3532QM, ATI Radeon 7670m

Consoles: 3DS XL, PS Vita, Zelda 3DS, PS3 Super Slim, DSi, PSP Go, PS3 Fat, Wii, GameCube, PS2

Now Playing: Metroid Prime 2, Dark Souls, Fallout: New Vegas, The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages, Persona 4: Golden

I say cut the price and make a Pikmen 3 Bundle.. for 299.00 on 32 GB and 200.00 for 8GB..

Nintendo Wii by generations...

1. Wii

2. Wii U

3. Wii O U

Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.

Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)

Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)

Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)

Just bundle an extra game maybe but also increase the hard drive size for the same price.

Kinda' hard to increase the memory since they are using a flash drive!!! To be honest I don't understand why they chose such expensive storage option for the Wii U.

I think it's because they wanted to make the console small and unobtrusive.  Apparently, Nintendo places a lot of emphasis on having a compact system which I don't really get but w/e.

As for the Wii U, I think they could do a couple of things.  The 8 GB model should pretty clearly be dropped.  Ideally they could get the 32 GB down to 300 with or without Nintendoland.  Maybe have a bundle for 350 that comes with New Super Mario Bros U and Luigi U.  I'd also expect a Wii Fit Bundle.  400 with the balance board, game, 32 GB, and maybe a Wiimote would be nice.
