Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Rumour: Microsoft Will Announce Xbox One Self-Publishing At Build

To be honest, I do not think this is something that was just dreamed up after E3. This is something that was rumored for quite some time and it's just not limited to Indies. It was believed that MS is opening their Windows 8 store to the X1 which would mean anyone can self publish a game or an App for the system just like you can for IOS and Android devices.

Imma go bing that to see if theres anything to back it up... If i only remembered what the url was...

I will permaban myself if the game releases in 2014.

in reference to KH3 release date

Glad MS is making a lot of changes for the better. I could care less about Indie games but for some I guess it's a good thing.

lol. Microsofts message post E3: "Tell us what to do with the console since we clearly have no idea what we're doing"

In all seriousness, this is good news if true.

isn't competition great!

“If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” - Henry Ford, maker of Ford Model T (first mass produced car)

great quote but nowhere near anything like what ms did with xb1

So this means indie developer have been boycotting Microsoft as well?, Microsoft really is changing a lot of things in less than a month. I am really surprised.

What bad preorders sales didn't make... before "we won't will change anything", after "we will change to make our consumers happy".

Great move from Microsoft... fix the bad thinks is always the best to do.

Not something you or I can judge at this point and time. Regardless, the quote is perfectly valid for this thread and discussions at hand...

I hope it's segregated like it is on the 360. I don't want XBLA filling up with the kind of shit you find in XBLIG, I'd rather go without indie games.

Interesting choice of quote, given that it was Ford's refusal to give his customers choices that caused their market share to fall from 65% to 15%. I wonder if we would have seen a similar effect in Microsoft's case.

Who knows, its quite possible...but all we can do now is have pointless banter about it.

No chance of revolution or massive marketshare drops when there is no differentiation between preceding or competing offerings of a product.
