Rely On Horror

People have been comparing the likeness of The Last Of Us’s Elle character to Hollywood actress Ellen Page ever since the original reveal trailer. Well recently Ellen Page was part of a reddit Ask Me Anything thread and was asked to comment on Naughty Dog apparently drawing from her own likeness and putting it into the character of Ellie:

“I guess I should be flattered that they ripped off my likeness, but I am actually acting in a video game called Beyond Two Souls, so it was not appreciated.”

Harsh words indeed, it’s been noted that in between original trailer for The Last Of Us and the game’s launch that Naughty Dog in fact did change Ellie’s appearance due to Ellen Page appearing in Beyond: Two Souls. However a lot of people (including Ellen herself) still seem to think Ellie still looks a lot like Ellen Page.

Well they do look pretty damn alike. Ironic since she's in another sony exclusive though.

That comment by her pissed me off. So what the character looks like her.

I don't even know who she is other than the chic from beyond... But she has pretty generic facial features

You know, they do look alike, but it's not like Ellen Page is distinctive whatsoever. I personally know two or three girls that you could compare with Ellie and say, "wow, that looks like her". If it wasn't for the name, I wouldn't have given the similarity a second thought.

Never thought ellie looked like her even in the reveal trailer or the final game. And I never will.

I thought so too until I saw the girl who did the VA and body movements. Looks a lot like her, actually.

what i feel strange is the timing of which the character Ellie was built and Ellen Page's contribution to another Sony exclusive seemingly around the same time period!!.. is it related in some way? or maybe they were influenced by one another?!!

She's the architect in inception.
