head-tracking (at least demonstrated by Lee) uses two stationary points on the head. by tracking the distace between the 2 points and the location of the point, it can head-track
with one wiimote on the head and the glasses that stated "do nothing", it won't give you the precises distance between you and the sensor bar, it will only be able to track your location, no distance.
Epic Fail. (Whoops, wrong thread?)

I think that's a clever joke, as those appear to be goggles. And as The Simpsons taught us, "The goggles, they do nothing!".

How helpful!!!
Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
somewhere i'm sure they'll have the head tracking patented - when they first saw the Head Tracking project do you honestly think Nintendo's reaction was:
1: Wow thats amazing - lets look into that and see if it's plausible
or
2: Bstartds!! now he's blown it - cant believe somebody else his figured it also.
There's probably dozens of components laying dorment in the Wiimote for a dozen different purposes put there purposly just waiting to spring into action when called upon.
At the same time however there's probably a million patents that they registered that will never get used. I'm sure these web jounalist experts will keep guessing but to no avail.
Looks like a joke to me.
I'm still struggling to think of any game (or other) related idea that would benefit from having the user *walking* around their living room.
You can get a pretty good estimate of head movement just from the WiiFit board. As for having a benefit from the user turning their head away from the TV...
