I'm sorry, up to iOS6 Apple didn't even have a worth a damn pull down menu.  I've touched a few I devices after having my android phones and I would never go back, just feld so "walled in" starting with the home screen and everything else.

Also, Apple's new "made in California" advertising seems like a desperate [genius?] attempt to draw attention away from the fact that Android / Samsung is throttling them.  I want to like Apple products (used to have an ipod touch and ipad), but they have just fallen behind in their ways - worried more about profit margin than innovation. Then again, if they can get away with selling people the same crap I don't necessarily blame them.

Price... GS4 is cheaper than iPhone 5 here.

But some guys are starting to replace like last month one replaced his GS3 for a iPhone 4.

Eh.  To each their own I guess.

It's a status symbol in some countries, and a fashion trend in most. Wonder how long it will last since Steve has passed on though.

Still the best phone in the market IMO.

I like how the new 5 series are very durable is about it, the functionalities are too locked down otherwise and always need a jailbreak to do what you want whereas rooting is not required for most users on Android. Windows phone is still trash, but if they ever catch up or get better than both, I'd switch right away too. I have 0 brand loyalty towards any corporation. :P

I don't like/get why Samsung makes there galaxy s series so plasticy/cheap looking in general. I like the apple os even without the jailbreak and ios 7 looks to be good. Then again I have no clue what rooting is so ya...

lol windows phone

iOS is ridiculously limiting without jailbreaking, I know it all too well since it doesn't do even 50% of what I wanted it to do without Jailbreak which is not something I have issues with even with an Android phone that's not rooted.

Rooting is like jailbreaking, only you can do even more than jailbreaking, and custom ROMs make older phones still relevant years after release due to rooting and unlocking the bootloader. TBH the durability is not a problem since I have protectors on all my phones to start with, I've accidentally tossed my S3 like 5-10 feet away on the street in Seattle and the end result was that the protector got a few scratches lol.

lol Windows Phone yeah, they are not all there yet..... trying too hard with the Windows 8 bullshit....

Come to think of it, I never use phones with protectors anyways xD Rooting sounds rather cool, though when I jailbreaked my iphone, I ended up going back since it was a pain to re jailbreak after every update. It does what I want. So honestly I'm not sure how much rooting I would actually even do if I had an android.

Well I prefer iOS over any Android phone in the market... I don't like the Android's pads too... I had one and it give me a lot of trouble... now I will try to get a MacBook Air.

Most guys here seems to forget the iPhone do what you want about a smartphone... what the Android do more is not important for most users.

You wouldn't have to root for the most part unless you want a custom ROM, my S3 is not even rooted cause I didn't see the need to as it does 90% of what I want out the box already and the 10% is not a big deal(has to do with pathing and some other stuff I want to mod but not required.)

Looks....pretty much the same. It's not a bad thing though.

Smart phone capabilities are not important for most users, it's just where the market is going. Just like how you can't work without seeing a computer these days even though you absolutely don't need computers for most jobs. /shrug

Looks exactly the same, but probably a bigger screen.
I think I'll just sell my Iphone 5 and get a Windows phone. I do like the Iphone a lot but it gets so boring after a while.
