Forums - Sales Discussion - VGChartz: PS4 Outselling Xbone at 5:3 in US

Hardly on fire now is it considering the xbox back lash and that XBO is right on its tail. Real time has XBO at 7, PS4 at 15.

Time will tell but it certainly won't be 5:3 when both consoles launch.

When PS4 release date will be announced, it will even be better ^^^^. PS3 sold better each year than 360 WW. Now it's all about PS4 with no back lash, not out a year later, cheaper. Easy to know that PS4 will outsell One WW.....

In US, Xbox territory, right now pre sales total are in favor of PS4...

Imagine how it is on other territories (aka Sony's land)..

PS4 is $100 cheaper. Regardless it doesn't matter because both consoles will sell out of launch systems and more for the holidays. After that if MS sees the need to drop the price to match PS4 they will do so. MS can afford to take the hit on the system while Sony cannot. I think both systems will be $399 by fall of 2014.

Sony isn't taking a loss on the PS4 399 LOL

I didn't say they were taking a loss at $399 even though you have no idea if they are or not. What I'm saying is Sony can't afford to take a loss so if MS drops the X1 price to $399 Sony won't be able to counter with a $299 price. They will both be at $399 for a while.

Yes they will both be 399$ for a while, but Microsoft isn't just gonna give the Xbox One a 100$ price cut a couple months after launch. It will stay 499$ for at least 6+ months which will give Sony a very big lead in sales. Of course, I'm only talking about U.S here. If they're both 399$ Sony won't have a problem with Microsoft in Europe/Japan.

By fall 2014 I expect about 5-6 million PS4s sold and 3 million+ Xbox Ones sold. Won't be that big of a lead compared to the whole generation of sales. Once they both hit the same price point Xbox will gain some of that lead in the US and I expect a close race overall.

I expected both those numbers to be much higher.

Also, it looks like cod might get dethroned. EA may be the shooter king next gen

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

You might be right, I think battlefield is looking good. I hope so. Someone else needs the light.  I hope titanfall takes it. We will see.

Remember the launch Edition of the PS4 is at number 3.  That was sold out within a few days.   The Xbox 1 Launch Edition has been out for over 3 weeks and still hasn't been able to overtake it. To add fuel to the fire, PS4 sales have now been distributed into a  "non-launch" and 4 bundles

On the other hand,  The Watch Dogs Launch Bundle is at 84, with the standard PS4 "non-launch" edition at 89.   Even the PS4 DS controller has entered the top 100.

At launch, Worldwide expect a 2:1 launch.  In the US and UK expect a 4:3 distribution.

I don't get why people consider Europe "Sony land". Europe is neutral to all 3 console makers. Just because its Sony's best performing region doesn't mean the Nintendo and Microsoft do poorly there by any means.

USA - XBOX Land/Neutral
Europe - Neutral
Japan - 3DS Land
