Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox 1 family plan was just a demo mode

That's a cool theory but it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Nothing about this whole damned console has made any sense. So he's probably right.

"I stand by the belief that Playstation 4 is Xbox 360 part 2, while Xbox One is trying to revolutionize entertainment consumption. For people who don’t want these amazing additions, like Don said we have a console for that and it’s called Xbox 360."

this is whats is wrong with microsoft, this shows that even if they did remove the DRM that they still believe this is were the industry will go. sharing demo's is an amazing feature, wow. sony has been pushing these game trails on the fucking damn PS3 on PS+ THIS GEN! and now they come up with sharing trails if your friend bought a game, and yet they call this amazing, they call this revolutionary, its fucking bullshit. the core of this company is pure greed and DOES not care about consumer rights one bit, the fact that the people who are working at microsoft believe these restrictions to be "amazing features" shows this, and shows that this is what the company is after, and it will try to do it again, mark my words

Man, if they actually went through with this, using it as a major feature, it would have been hilarious. The brand would have literally SEGA'd.

Ow, my sides... why couldn't this have happened?! The hilarity!

I knew it couldn't have been as amazing as so many people were naively assuming, but I didn't imagine for one second that it could POSSIBLY be this lame.

I blame Sony.

CBOAT on gaf also confirmed the 60 minute limit, it was just a glorified demo for your friends and family.

Why do people quote this guy as if everything he says is fact? He also said PS4 users would not have to pay to play online.

I don't get why they would need to remove this feature if it's just a glorified demo library.

because they only put it in the first place to try shut people up. it didnt work so they removed it because they never really cared about it or providing something good for gamers. if it doesnt make money for them, they simply wont add a feature, something that cant be said about both sony and nintendo

it makes perfect sense. put DRM and put a feature that will make it look like its worth it, in this case the "family share".  there were tons of xbox fans running around the place saying that the DRM is worth it. now since there is no DRM they dont need to make it look worth it, so they take away the feature. it makes perfect sense, if you dont understand that its because you chose not to

What I want to know is... Who's fucking idea was it?!

Who thought this would actually be a good idea? Who thought that people would stand for that shit?

Until the day they announce it is a glorified demo service, and then they have an even bigger stink on their hands. Again, makes no sense whatsoever. Either way, feel free to bicker about a plan that is dead anyway, I am done.

My money is on Sony's inside man, Agent Harrison.

If I remember correctly he said that he had not heard about Sony charging for online, then he went on to say that he doesn't have many contacts at Sony. If that's what you're talking about then no he wasn't wrong he said that he didn't hear anything and that he doubts it.

He made the prediction that PS4 would have no paywall for MP and was wrong. And in that same thread he made a couple MS E3 predictions that were also dead wrong. All I am saying is its weird to see people taking his word as sheer fact. He has been wrong plenty of times.
