I was under the impression that your friend would have to login to your account to access your games, and, once logged out, he'd lose all access. Is that not the case?

No.

Here's one example: I bought a game on my PS3 with my PSN Account, downloaded and installed it on my PS3.

Since my friend wanted to have the game as well, I logged into PSN with my own account on his PS3, redownloaded the game and it was installed on his PS3. As soon as this happened, I simply logged out. From now on, he can play the game on his PS3, with his own account, even though he even only has a local/offline account.

That's pretty sweet. This doesn't apply to PSPs, though, does it? Cause my brother bought a used PSP Go a while back that came with preloaded games, but the moment he logged into his own account he lost access to everything.

I am not trading in my disc based rights for game sharing. At least Microsoft paid you for your hard work. I will trade my disc with as many people as I want, because it is my right. Can't force everyone to buy every game.

LOL if you think used game sales is not killing gaming, there have been multiple articles saying this for years.

I know you are going to  compare it stuff like used movies, music, and cars so let me poke holes in that before you even bring it up.

These are the ways creators make money off of their products.

Movies  =  4 streams of revenue: Theater, digital rentals, dvd sales, tv syndication.

Music =  3  streams of revenue: Radio, concerts, music streaming sites.

Cars = different model,  much higher profit margin much longer length of ownership.

Games = 2  streams of revenue first sale (dd or disc), dlc, and not everyone who gets the disc buys dlc.

Another thing of note is that movies and music don't have stores like gamestop pushing used sales.

Just because there are articles claiming that used game sales are ruining the sales of the game industry doesn't mean they are. Remember when pirating was all the rage for the industry to put blame on? Where'd that go?

... Family sharing is no different from downloading a demo and playing it. What a load of crap.

I don't know whether to laugh or to cry out of the utter fail. He says there was no catch to family planning and then goes on to explain the catch in the next statement: Games would essentially be limited access timed demos. It is pretty much the same as Sony's full game trails.

That would explain a lot about how this family sharing actually play out because what they were pitching at first was ridiculous and no publishers would want to be any part of it. That said though I still take this entire post with a grain of salt. I don't think we will ever find out the details of the family sharing plans, but I don't even think I want to. I'm happy with being able to own a copy of my game and do what I want with it.

Nevermind. Microsoft came back to the real world and listened before it was to late
