Microsoft corrects their mistakes and reshapes the direction within less than 2 weeks. Back to 2006, Sony didn't make this kind of immediate action to calm down its fans. So who is better?

I cannot believe I saw few posts in this tread that expect MS quits from gaming industry. This is tooooo biased and toooo naïve.

And I am certain sure that PS4 will have the sales lead in the next gen, but from the current gen, I really don't think the pure console sales can describe the overall pictures of the console war. Look at Wii, it is close to 100million, but did it win this gen? Now 360 is in the 3rd place, but did it lose this gen?

It is really weird for me to understand why people here were such easily to forgive what Sony did at the beginning of this gen and will never give MS another chance even they correct their mistake in such short time.

This can only be good for "gaming fans"
We get more competition, less complacency

"Sony fans"
Sony won't plain sale this, might even "lose" on the long run.

I see myself as a gaming fan so this can only be a great thing.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

What did Sony do that requires forgiveness?

Relieved more than happy. But if MS and Sony know what's good for them this Xbone debacle will have killed DRM on console game discs FOREVER! And that is a win for all gamers everywhere, even the fools (both Sony and MS fans) who think DRM and killing the used game market would be a good thing.

well i am kind of glad. Xbox went from meh I aint ever gonna get one, to oh ok now lets take a better look at what it has to offer.

Glad because its gonna keep sony on their toes, a lil bitter because i was hoping Sony could eat up 3rd party support so that developer resources dont get wasted on porting the same game over and over and over again. (This would allow the devs to concentrate on one console thus using resources on actually creating a good game that uses the hardware to its max.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

I think it's good that MS respected the wishes of (probably?) a majority of the consumers here, because like this the next gen race should be a pretty close one again.

That means every console manufacturer has to be on their toes and quickly react to what the others are doing, which usually results in every fanbase profitting.

Twofold

1. Glad they changed their consumer unfriendly policies so now there will be healthy competition without violating our consumer rights.

2. As far as consumers are concerned, they should have waited to change those policies untill close to bankrupcy. Now these drm issues will always loom on the horizon, otherwise they would be dead...

I am happy because they still haven't fixed the massive 100 dollar difference between consoles. That is not going to change either.

I think that this change won't make much of a difference at all. PS4/playstation brand will still be the leader as it has always been IMO.
