LIke I said, E3 has already passed. Sony won that week. They got the most positive press and that's that.
Microsoft reacted to Sony's PS4 policies.

PS4.

Sony got good press solely because of the DRM stuff.

Xbox won hands down in regards to games.

Most of those games will be coming to the PS4 or PC at some date. Really no major win when your consoles launch titles are virtually equal. Really comes down to subtlties like price and launch offerings. Xbox showed a lot of games but Sony has 140 more through to the back end of 2014 which means they are saving more goodness for their second year much like the PS3. Thats when the fire will truly start.

Xbox loyalty is so thin, when I support something I stay to the bitter end not swap sides every couple of months.

Haha! Oh boy...

The PS2 is the best selling console of all time. Yet the 360 managed to outsell the PS3 for years primarily due to price. Many people that were once Sony fans are now Xbox fans.

Those facts must sting you a little.

I fall into that category.

For once we agree. Their libraries are strikingly even save for exclusives. The majority of the gamers dont care about exclusives at all.

There seemed to be a lot more press on the upcoming One exclusives versus PS4 exclusives. The One exclusives were more interesting.

I'm not really impressed by the 140 games figure. We know many won't be exclusives and a lot will probably be indie/PSN games.

Add Sonys PS3 and PS4 2013 games and you've got the real number of games Sony came to the party with. You don't need to be impressed by Sonys figures for games just like everyone was boasting about MS 15 exclusives. Most will be timed exclusives  like they always are and if you have a PC combo with your PC, does it really matter at all? I just bought Alan Wake on my PC, so I am not impressed. If you like Microsofts list then enjoy it bro.

well we'll see how far it goes. i'm sure they have some plan.

basically they would have been crushed in pre-orders by the PS4. thats the only real reason they would change this. their plan is to make money. the DRM issues got in the way of that. so now they changed it. if they could pull anything like this off and it wouldnt effect their console sales you bet your ass they would do it in a heart beat

EXACTLY!  If they would have announced at E3 that they were dropping the DRM and all that stuff along with releasing a $400 Kinectless SKU: we would have known they are making these changes to make money AND because it is clearly what their consumers want.

But instead they acted arragant as hell and dropped it once they realized the launch ratio would have been 6:1 in favor of PS4.

In all honesty I think they should have just made the DRM worth it and stuck with it at this point.  Now they look like they really don't know what they are doing.  The damage has already been done.  It will only be outsold 3:1 instead of dead on arrival...

Who else is returning the the Xbox brand after the fiasco? I mean REAL Xbox owners who still game on it.

I'M BACK BABY!!!

Welcome back!

I one of the many that were rather mixed about the changes.  I like that they got rid of the 24 hour check in, but the family sharing and being all digital were really nice.  I am sad that that was canceled. The online supported open world stuff would be cool too.

I wished they had left us the option to go in 'offline mode' or 'online mode.'  As many of the new features sounded cool.

So much drama over a game system! Unfortunately, the trolls sill aren't happy.  I wish they had games to play or something to do than complain on the internet so much.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

i doubt it will be outsold 3:1 (atleast in the USA) but the image of the xbox 1 certainly isnt a good one. a lot of people have associated a bad imagine with the console and that might affect the outlook of consumers on it in the future, im surpised MS acted so fast, its honestly a smart move to act so fast. if they just announced no DRM at e3 and all those exclusives they would have won by a land slide, but sony didnt even bother to announce everything. they just announced one new exclusive (the order 1886).

how on earth would they have made the DRM worth it?

When you are making purchasing decisions based on loyalty to a company rather than value of product itself you have crossed over from just being a loyal fan. comparing supporting a rugby team when it is losing to your support of a console is really the sign of someone that is not just a loyal fan.

How do you gauge that?

For me at least. A loyal fan is someone that given 2 equal items will choose the item that supports the company they are a fan of. a fanboy is someone that chooses loyalty regardless of quality/value/enjoyment between the 2 items in question. For instance I have an Xbox 360, a Ps3 and used to have a Wii (though admittedly ditched that a few years ago now). As a loyal Xbox fan I choose to play console multi plats on the 360 when there is no significant difference between the PS/Xbox version, I use Netflix on my 360 instead of my PS3 and I usually purchase in XBL instead of PSN. My purchasing decision of which console I buy first will be based on which has the best opening games lineup for "me" and the best media features for "me", if I think they are roughly equal I will go with Xbox and get the Ps4 at a later date, if I think the PS4 is better then I will do the reverse. First and foremost I am a "game fan", Be it PC/MS/Nintendo/Sony. I am currently still undecided with a preorder in for both platforms (will cancel one of those preorders closer to release).

I give no company my loyalty. I game on the consoles with the games I like that have an accommodating environment. Microsoft tried to fuck me - hard - and I responded by putting on my steel panties. They had the games, but not the environment. Now, things seem to be shifting with respect to the latter. I'm not jumping in just yet, but I am glad they rolled back since I love me some Master Chief. I will get both consoles, but PS4 (and the Wii U) first. XBO when Chief drops - possibly the very same day Halo 5 launches.
