Forums - Gaming Discussion - Sharing With 10 Friends Was Better Than Used Games, You Guys Complained For Nothing

We will never know how it was meant to work.

This clearly only came about BECAUSE people complained.

They're complaining about a setup that honestly was better for most gamers, but congrats, we "got" what we apparently wanted, lol. Now the five people who play games and live in a cave can play their XBox One without an internet connection. Again, whoopity doo.

Even under the old system you could still buy used games from crappy-ass Gamestop. It was just publishers getting a cut of it.

Man that really sucks. REALLY sucks.

I just don't see why they can't give you the option. Either you can have your console like how the 360 currently is or you can have your console with the 24 hour check with family sharing plan or anything in between.

I hope games still are getting installed to the harddrive. If they take that away and make you still change discs I'll be livid.

Sorry man...while game is isntalled, disks have to be in the tray.

These changes will impact some of the scenarios we previously announced for Xbox One. The sharing of games will work as it does today, you will simply share the disc. Downloaded titles cannot be shared or resold. Also, similar to today, playing disc based games will require that the disc be in the tray.

And yeah this is complete BS. People don't realize how ass backwards console gaming will be next gen cause of this. Actually hope Microsoft makes you everyone buy the Xbox and flips the switch 3 years into the console cycle.

Sooner or later MS would have had to take action against 10 people sharing their games.

yeah, not even sure if people really thought about the options. as example, open a vgc thread for all people interested in the family stuff and people could say which games they prefer and use this to decide who you put in your list.

as example, if you are interested in shooters, rpgs and sport games, put three guys in your list who said that these are their preferred genres.

So MS being utterly obliterated in every market including their stronghold of NA was a good option.

You have no idea, sorry.

Damn, I'd love to see those numbers.

So if I get what you're trying to say... used games only come from gamestop and all used games are dirty and scratched?

Sharing with 10 friends would have been nerfed to hell by angry publishers anyway, so #dealwithit.

No it wasn't. It was a carrot to drive your attention away from a big ass fucking stick.

Lack of any real ownership was FAR worse than any digital sharing feature.

Also... bluray doesn't scratch. So that argument you have is flawed.

I do have to say... Home Sharing on Itunes is something really great.. and MS even had 10 people on it while Apple allowed only 5.. I constantly share my digtal apps, videos and music.. It's a shame thats gone
