Forums - Nintendo - How come old EA games aren't on Nintendo's VC service?

Does EA not want easy money?  Sure I have a 12+ year boycott but I'd perhaps lift it for some of their old games on Sega Genesis.  Main reason why I started my EA boycott was because they never released another General Chaos (one of my favorite games).  How come they don't release Desert Strike, Road Rash, General Chaos, and all their other old VC games on Nintendo service?  Is it because they want to sell them on their Origin service?  Doesn't make sense to me.  I suppose I'll just have to wait for Road Redemption and other games that are tributes to some of their classic series.

Why indeed...

Because server costs would exceed the potential income.

Do you know if EA has their Genesis games on PSN or Live?  What do you mean server costs?  Each company like Sega has to pay Nintendo server fees to have their game on VC?

You said it yourself, EA would prefer to keep everything it can exclusive on Origin, also the fact is they might not have kept the old code of the previous games or some legal issue (a likeness they leased that has expired or whatever) that keeps them from releasing the game as it originally was.

I more curious as to why SNKP is being so slow in releasing their old games.

They only want their stuff on Origin.

These two titles help (and are a lot cheaper) to buy than buying individual VC games.  I have Metal Slug Anthology and going to get Samurai Showdown Anthology soon.

So they limit themselves to their own network to try to make people go to it.  Yet there are many that would never sign up for it who would be interested in some of their classics.  Same could be said about Nintendo and how they should go third party but at least Nintendo makes systems designed for their games.  If only EA would just make a console themselves and fail which would allow other developers to buy up their IPs that they neglected or ruined (Magic Carpet, Sim City, Ultima, Command & Conquer, etc).
