Forums - Sony Discussion - PSA: Don't update your PS3 just yet (firmware)

Thanks America for being the firmware update guineapigs. No update been released here yet, so I guess they'll be fixing the bug before they release it to the plebs of the world.

Being a nobody at the arse end of the world and getting everything last sometimes has its advantages.

Good thing I don't have PSN+.

Auto-update? more like auto-brick.

It doesn't auto-install as that is something you have to agree to. It downloads it for you and you can choose to install when you next launch the system.

How can they release an update without checking it first to see if it causes any problems? Luckily, i haven't updated yet

They probably didn't try it on a Ps3 with upgraded HDD?

Oh well, problem seems solved. I take it turning on Safe Mode should do the rest for people that got into trouble.

Problem is not solved, update is by now not available for download.

This is unnerving. Gonna turn on my PS3 in a few minutes and check it out.

What about the US update? They have taken the update offline too?

This doesn't affect me so I'm fine. Sounds oddly familiar right now. I can't put my finger on where I heard that lately.

But on topic if this affects a lot of people it's fairly annoying. I'm gonna update mine anyway because I want to download sleeping dogs. If it turns out it only affects a very small number of people like every update ever has then I can't see it being a problem.

Get it fixed Sony.

This happens quite often, iirc... Seems there testing-team needs some more talented people.

Strange, I don't remember the last time ps3's were bricking from updates.

Got any links?
