Forums - Sales - What is going on with the PSP in Europe?

It has been selling 20k+ units a week in the last 3 weeks in Europe. Has there been a price cut?

I bought a new PSP Street last year and am satisfied with it. I played through Chrono Cross like 3 times on it.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

To my knowledge, it's basically selling the same amount it did a year ago. I guess Europeans like their multimedia devices that happen to occasionally play games from 2006?

its freaking amazing!

You see! Continue to give a platform great software support and...

I imagine these sales have something to do with piracy. I mean its Europe!

Software sales don't seem strong enough for those kind of sales in Europe.

I don't know if North Africa are counted as Europe, but it's still selling well here. It's Sony's land here, PS3 and PSP are dominating, Vita sells some units while none for 3DS.

The PSP is very popular among children. With a price point of 79 €, everyone can afford one. That can't be said about any other console. Even the DS never was that cheap and it isn't available anymore in europe. 3DS and Vita are just too expensive for some kids around here.

At least that's what I'm experiencing in Germany. Don't know about other countries though...

Nintendo sales data showed that we massively undertracked the PSP in Europe week after week.
It's not just the last 3 weeks that it's above 20k there.

I don't know what happened. I live in Rotterdam, NL and I have to say that I barely see any PSP units on the shelf inside the MediaMarkt. Even the shelf size of PSVita is quite smaller comparing to DS or 3DS. And no PSP software can be found as well. But it may be just here and just in one shop.

PSP is the cheapest system with Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 and Fifa 13. But I don't see them selling...

System sells, software doesn't ... "Piracy."
