Ladies and gentlemen... Xbox fanboyism at it's finest. I guess Sony selling almost 340 million units across 3 consoles is "lagging" in your book. I mean, it's not like Playstation has housed some of the most memorable and fantastic titles by some of the greatest devs in the industry. The Playstation is, and always has been, about gaming. Do you know why people aren't bothered by a subscription fee for PSN MP? Because 1) $50 a year for PS+ (still cheaper than XBL, I might add) is far better than all the BS M$ is trying to shove down peoples throats. 2) Look at how much has vamped up the new PSN? We're talking media outlets, much more social gaming, Gakai; the list goes on. What risks have M$ taken in their history? Their brand is only alive because of one franchise (which they've been milking the hell out of for 11+ years now), and the biggest risk they took with the 360 was a less than functional camera, with only a handful of games that actually utilize it, that led them to just about completely abandon the core market that made their brand what it was to begin with.

What I read when I read this, I see this: "B-b-b-but y do PS4 has moor pweordaz? Teh Xbawks One is numbuh one! Waaaahhh..."

Sorry if I come being a dick to anyone seeing this comment, but all this damage control that XBone fans are having to do, despite the fact that it's NOT EVEN OUT YET, is really annoying. Just me.

I disagree... When Apple, Android devices and Microsoft ecosystems are running the digital gaming landscape 5 years from now and Sony is yelling "hey guys, we do digital too if you'd like"...we will see who made the right bet.

It is definitely not just you, and well said, the damage control is so pathetic it hurts.

There is no difference between the digital part of Xbone and PS4 for now... the difference is the retail one the Xbone needs always online checks and PS4 not.

Everyone rational reading your post here can immediatly tell which one of us is a fanboy that posts incoherent nonsence...

Have you ever heard of the Vita? It does most of what MS talks about.

Accept Sony does do digital... Are you serious right now?  Sony gives their consumers options, Microsoft is taking them away.  The only way microsofts approach will be successful and permeate the entire industry is if we allow it to, by supporting this bullshit.  I would absolutely love for nothing more than for Microsoft to backpedal a bit and at least drop this drm bullshit so that I can feel good about owning every system, but as it stands, I simply refuse to support this movement.  Sony and ninty all the way.

In order for that to happen the Xbox will have to be a major player five years from now. And to do that MS is going to have to change their tactics from trying to force you to go digital by making the retail experience shittier, attacking your ownership rights, etc., to enticing you to go digital by offering compelling reasons to do so, a la Valve.

As it stands there is nothing MS is promising that Sony isn't also, and Sony isn't going to punish you for playing games off of a disc or choosing to not go online for some period of time.
