Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Should Nintendo bring back the Wii-style marketing?

Well, to be honest, Ninty took Wii marketing seriously from the start. 7 months later and the Wii U marketing is still dead. They still need to drop that dumb dubstep marketing. It's not............effective.

No games, no need for marketing at the moment. Nintendo must be saving up their markering budget for the relaunch.

I think a single Nintendo land Bundle with a pricecut could work. Not as great as a Wii sport bundle, but well enough.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

They did bring the Wii marketing to the Wii U (most of the logic anyways). But i guess you mean advertisiment.

Yes.  They should say "We would like to play.... again!"  or "We would like to play, with U".  An ad campaign emphasising the product is a follow up to the Wii could work very  well.  What it also does is just emphasis fun and the great things you can do with the product in an almost magical way.  Even better are these:

A classy montage showing people shooting ninja stars using the touch screen, making Mario jump, turning a MarioKart using the Gamepad as a steering wheel, having video chat with someone using the Gamepad on its stand, a kid playing Mario under the covers in bed, two college roomates shooting each other in COD using different screens one on the TV- one on the pad screen, surfing the net on the pad, selecting Netflix, taking a photo using the camera and turning it into a Zombie, drawing using the pen and sharing said drawing on MiiVerse, a group of friends sining karaoke.    "Wii is back.   Play.  Live. Enjoy. The all new Wii ---> U."

At this point.. doubt it would help without Wii Fit U and Wii Party U... but I don't think it could hurt.. (Hell any kind of marketing period may help.. I mean seriously.. I haven't seen one Wii U add at all... I would not have even known there was a Wii U if I did not accidentally stumble on it at Amazon.. )

Nintendo Wii by generations...

1. Wii

2. Wii U

3. Wii O U

Predictions made by gamers concerning the current Nintendo line up of games.

Pikmen 3= Little Bump to nothing. (Got Little Bump)

Wind Waker HD= Won't sell anything (The explosion happened here and at one time 4 Wii U games was in the Amazon top 100)

Super Mario 3D World= Won't help at all looks cheap. (Currently the most sought after Wii U game and continuing the Wii U increase.)

I won't say it is trash, but just... very..........underwhelming........until Pikmin 3 and  Wonderful 101 come out. Besides, Wii U has some good games. ZombiU craps on Call of Resident Evil 6. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is a worthy remake, but again, just a remake. The games will come.

I personally love this 3DS commercial:

I don't know about the WiiU, haven't seen any commercials since I don't have cable tv.

That was  pretty dope. Ninty needs to give females more $$$$$.

The gimmick is just not strong enough, when motion gaming came out even my mom was excited by it. Motion control captured the mainstream imagination but the tablet controller failed to do that just like 3d gaming failed also

3ds wants to say hi... even if it sold double with its current numbers right now for the lifetime (i highly doubt) it wuold be up to 60 million... which would be considered a success already

Almost any advertising woulds be better then there current ones. They are just awful
