Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Yusuf Mehdi: In the long run our console will win.

yes semantics make me very happy. Thank you for clarifying.

If you can share your games with 10 people then I don't see X1 getting any where near Steam prices... Sure perhaps they could block those games, but PS3 mostly only allows the games being shared digitally twice and doesn't have Steam level sales even though that would be a more comfortable sale environment for publishers than the used game or physical markets. Undoubtedly it will be interesting to see how many of these next gen features and store fronts will work.

Around the Network

It is safe to assume that MS totally misread the market. The internet is a fad that is about to die and with it digital downloads. The internet is very much like the Wii it did great for awhile, but you will see vastly decreased usage and slower speeds in the years to come. This effectively makes the Xbox One a dinosaur. As less and less people have internet connections and the people that do have them will be using slow dial up connections the foundation that the Xbox One is based on will collapse. Cant say it will happen in 1 year, 2 years or 10 years, but the internet age is coming to an end.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

I'm still waiting for someone to actually explain how a console which can do Disk/online is anything worse (or not future proof) when compared to a device that can only do online...

No one yet has given me this amazing concept "future" that the current gen consoles can't already do. And don't say... oh it can do steam like sales... because they "Could" do that right now if *publishers* wanted to do it.
