Forums - Gaming Discussion - Could MS run into PS3 style hacking problems due to Xbox Ones Policies?

I doubt we'll see something similar to the PSN attack unless MS do something naughty after the XBone has been released.

But I can definitely imagine hackers being interested in DRM workarounds, making the console region-free, getting rid of the XBone library limits etc.

Anon would have attacked already or at least, shown their presence. DRM can help fight piracy, for all we know they could be all for it.

i don't think they would have attacked in any way yet but i would have expected a statement along the lines of "change or policies or will be there day-1 to yata yata yata.."

the silence would, to me, suggest they don't really care.   although it could be that there are such bigger fish to fry right now with prism.

Hackers are going to hack every system that's what they do (Microsoft is not exclusive) lol. This thread is frivolous and is only trying to rile up already hostile fan bases.

Did you bother to read what I posted? I'm asking if the policies that MS has put into place for the Xbox One could lead to an attack to shut down live just like what happend to Sony with PSN. I also asked what people on here think the consiquenses of something like that would be. Chill buddy.

It's also possible that since quite a few of them were arrested, they'll think twice before trying anything like that again. I hope neither network goes down again, Consumers have every right to buy whatever they want.

Link?

Here is one:

There were others, but I can't remember when.

Is that legit or a fan-made account?

(Yes, I know the whole "anyone can be anonymous" thing! )

It is legit, but tough to say how connected the account owners would be to the PSN hackers. It will be a friend of a friend of a friend situation and they only mobilise if they get outraged enough.

PSN: Osc89

No I will not chill, Every console manufacture gets hacked psn, xbl, and Nintendo online and it's not exclusive to anyone.Just because the others don't make a big deal about doesn't mean they are not under constant attack. It's threads like this that riles up fanbases and poisons the site. Now take a gander at my sig because

-You just got that work

this is not happening.... it is as likely to happen than it did with facebook.... it's MS we are talking about... even if an attack is possible freezing them for 2 months would be pretty hard for any hacktivist... at best 48h and that'd be with a great amount of prep time and massive numbers of participant in the attack to succeed....
