Forums - Gaming Discussion - Could MS run into PS3 style hacking problems due to Xbox Ones Policies?

Do you think it's possible that a hacking group like annonymous could make trouble for MS because of how MS is dealing with DRM ect? I ask because groups like Annon are very pro-consumer and very much against corporate attemps to control consumers. What could an attack mean for gamers? Of course, nothing could happen. But how bad would things be if Live goes down for a week, or a month, or two months?

Now, please don't take this as a dig at MS or the One. I know something could also happen to the PS4 but the PS4 doesn't depend on an internet connection.

Another thing to think about. Has MS thought about this?

Anon would have attacked already or at least, shown their presence. DRM can help fight piracy, for all we know they could be all for it.

Why would they attack already? If they wait until the X1 launch they could cripple the system before it gets off the ground.

Absolutely. It has painted an enormous target on itself with just about any feature it had revealed for itself.
Has MS thought about this? Look at how many things to anger the consumer are around there. I bet they did. I wonder if they've done any good in that... there's a windows component in there, after all. Which is the most vulnerable.

Hackers' new favorite pinata.

That would effect consumers, the people they try to protect!

Did Sony fans like it when PSN got taken down? Hell no. They're better off making a stand now.

Anonnymous will surely do something, i thought of them the moment i saw the internet reacting negatively to the Xbox One.

if it's like the PS3, Ms would be happy because that would be a 3 years hack free console like the PS3 was and also games on the PS3 are barely pirated because they take to long to download or they don't work properly

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Haha, I was talking more about the type of hack than the time fram but I guess that works.
