The core is buying the PS4. Will the casual follow? I think so. It's very very hard to justify a premium price point. Just ask Sony circa 2006.

Now then... Where's that GeneralMLD fellow at. I just have to hear his rebuttal.

I remember superchunk(was it superchunk?) who made a thread about PS4 orders potentially more stock/pre-orders than XB1...well I talking to my friend who's a general manager of the gamestop I frequent and the pre-orders were

95 PS4 15 XB1..O_O damn...

Those numbers line up with the dozens of anecdotes throughout this thread:

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=582581

Note as the numbers in the thread grow from ~25:10 in the early posts to 50+:10 by the end, as retailers report more and more ps4s being allocated to their stores as pre-order limits are reached.

Now, M$ could be using a clever strategy with that. By shipping a very small number of units to retail at the begining, that would (or at least should) cause the console to sell out pretty quickly. That could in turn entice more people to buy them, under the impression that the system is extremely popular, they now need one themselves, and will rush out to the store whenever a new stock comes in, at whcih, M$ (if they're smart) will have just a few more units sent out than last time, and, as this process wears on, will continue to steadily build up stock each time, causing the system to still sell out each time, and the sales will steadily grow. I believe Sony used a similar strategy with the PS3 launch, but it didn't exactly work out for them in the long run. Seeing as the PS4, having a much higher shiped number, is still out preordering the XBone, this will probably backfire severely on M$. Just my theory though.

I called about 10 different Game Stops and they all said PS4 was dominating.

One of them said they had 82 PS4's pre-ordered and only 10 Xbox Ones.

The mom and pops shop that I get games early from was hyping up PS4 and basically told me not to get an Xbox.

.

of course they would, since they are not one of the preapproved stores that can buy and resell xbone games.

Wow, Amazon did shut down the poll. It was supposed to have 5 days left.

Final vote 38984 to 2162.

Yea, I wonder if that had anything to do with MS sponsering them recently.  Probably didn't want the poll to end at 99%.  1% for Xbox One would just have been too funny.

Early console sales will go to whoever has the most consoles at launch.

From what has been rumored on the X1 front, the PS4 might easily prevail on that.

What does that mean? Nothing more than there are more consoles to be sold.  Tho, Im curious just how many they will sell (and whether or not the X1 would sell that many if they could).  Cannot wait for some Numbers!

Early sales will go to the console with the best pricepoint and demand. The PS4 has the Xb1 trumped there.

I was in Eb games NZ yesterday, They said they haven't had many xbone pre orders and they dont expect them to sell out. He also told me they had alot of ps4 pre orders and that you will struggle to pick one up around launch here at the rate they are being pre ordered at.

So NZ is Sony territory already... would you call that a decisive strike?

News to me? do u live here or something? Everyone I know owns 360s apart from my brother, Plus when I worked in Eb games DC I saw alot more 360s being sold then ps3s.

What I said was a deduction from your initial statement. It wasn't intended to describe the current gen situation, sorry for the ambiguity. Actually I didn't know which company performed better in NZ.

Lol I thought you meant it in a way like "So what!" NZ is Sony territory already :P

Yes everything points out to Playstation Domination but maybe Microsoft can make a come back with subsidised cable box deals, competition is always good it keeps them focused and humble and you can tell Sony is on his A game right now.

Wii U is well... the Nintendo software delivery box, they will be fine.
