The 360 showed it was a futile effort. Even after securing something like Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean they couldn't get it to take off in Japan, and I doubt they'll get anything better for the Xbox One.

All they're going to do is flush money and talent away and piss off a lot of JRPG fans.

Guys we are forgetting they are also pushing the TV entertainment side of the X1. They could go and sponsor exclusive Animes shown only on Xbox TV for example. So it may not be a wasted venture.

i think its a good move, ppl saying its a foolish move is not seeing the whole picture and i doubt ever will. the xbox brand is getting bigger with each generation that it has been out. 360 sold more than the original, so it stands to reason with the correct games, like some ppl have stated could help xbone do the same and increase its sales over the 360. you dont put out your product in every major market except the one u havent made that much head way, that would be bad business. lost odyssey2, blue dragon 2 and infinite undiscovery 2 and a few more rpg's could help it alot.

Mass rioting at TGS if that happens.
