Forums - Gaming Discussion - MS is using a Nvidia Titan in their X1 units at E3. Are they mis representing the X1 graphics.

What's this about?

That seems unlikely.  Why would developers build X-1 games for a Titan?

Well any game that runs in a Titan runs in a HD 7770 too.

Of course they wouldn't show demos which were better looking than the actual games later. Come on, I agree that M$ is doing a lot of bad things and I will be sticking to PS4 in the next gen, but this is too much.

That is now my favorite gif of all time.

What game they are talking about? Seems to have trolling comments from Blow before this part.

Absolutely MS is misleading people showing games on non-X1 hardware. The games may run the same in the end, but visitors are supposed to be trying the X1, not something that runs like the X1.

MS is not doing anything wrong here. You can't compare console to PCs and PCs take up more resources to compute compared to consoles.

I am actually surprised that they are running the games on PCs. But maybe the architecture is so similar to PC it doesn't make much difference to them.

Either way just because the PCs in E3 are using Titan GPUs doesn't mean the graphics will suddenly start looking better. At best the frame rate will end up being a little better. With what the OS running in the background, they might have tried to be on the safer side with an Nvidia (?) titan gpu.

Weird that they went for Nvidia though.

You mean like the PS3 using an entire core of it's CPU to run the XMB?

This is another myth that the OS is a resource hog. Windows 8 is barely a blip on the radar for my PC.

Yikes, was Jonathan Blow always a douchebag or did that just start recently? Trying to trash talk Twisted Pixel games? lol.

Funny seeing him get called out by TP and someone else for BS on twitter.

So Xbone games running on PC confirmed? Should be easy to hack the final games to work on PC again :)

Same goes for PS4. Both consoles are nothing more than PCs in camoflauge. Both running on x86 architexture gives that away.

Not at all. Both consoles are so much different than your ordinary PCs. Both are using APUs w/ unified memory. This alone makes them much more efficient than a PC ever hopes to be. This also allows future next-gen games to match high-end PCs a few years for now once devs start optimizing for every drop of power. So no, these aren't just PCs, they are much, much more.

Nope.

If you'll notice.  Battfield 4 was demoed using the PC.  Pretty much all the multiplat games that use PC were.

Why?

PC STILL looks better.

Afterall, think about this (likely false) rumor.

Titan GPU's CAN'T be part of that kind of unified architecture.

So in otherwords.  High end GPU's > Next Gen graphics.

If that wasn't the case, this rumor wouldn't be a negative.

Console power has... as always, been greatly overexagerrated via PR hype.

Consoles don't need good hardware. Just "optimize" the game to run on the hardware and it will look just as good.

The Optimizing has been, greatly overegerrated as well.

Again.  Focus on why this is a bad rumor for Microsoft.  (Though again, likely false.)

Because the titan... is far more powerful then either the Xbox One or PS4.  Post optimization.

Nothing the Xbox One or PS4 will put out, will equal what the same game could do on a titan.

Maybe this means that... each Xbox One will use... a Titan!?

no, not when sony said devs are saying that their games look better on ps4.

It's more than likely a stronger GPU, in order to combat any potential issues with framerate/glitches

Apparently you don't understand anything about cost. If the PS4 or Xbox One had a more powerful GPU than Titan they would cost around 700 dollars. Even if you factor in mass chip production. Seriously. Also the GPU Sony chose to run PS4 Demos on earlier this year was not comparable to the Titan.
