I'm asuming that you've all seen his Miyamoto quote? If not, here it is.

I really could care less what the fans make, Those two are probably two of the best game developers in gaming, and both very very fun indeed.

I'm sick of seeing this quote already because he is (obviously) using a Miyamoto quote out of context in order to prove some childish point ...

If you're trying to do something serious or realistic with a car combat game the question "Why would you put a gun on a car?" should come up. At the same time, when he was inventing the kart racing genre Miyamoto probably added combat because he wanted to make the game different from a standard racing game.

Personally, this only makes me respect David Jaffe far less ...

Just to sum up, he's saying that the banana peel comment was a joke, a little tongue-in-cheek jest. This whole thing has been taken so far out of context and blown to preposterous proportions.

Well the original comment didn't annoy me at all because it was just a joke. But my god does he make himself look like a wanker.

I don't expect anybody to tell people to "Go fuck yourself up your fucking arse" and think anybody who does makes themself look incredibly stupid. I mean, wow. I really have a lot less respect for Jaffe if he just goes around saying shit like that all the time.

Well Miyamoto probably doesn't know and doesn't care who Jaffe is, Jaffe's games don't sell as well as Miyamoto's games, and are not classics like Miyamoto's games are
