Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Can Xbox One start fresh?

No the brand has been hurt. Honestly this has been the worse month of PR for a company Ive seen in the history of this industry.

That being said the console will not flop this holiday season. It will actually be very successful. Still the days of MS dominating Sony in NA are over.

There are some people on GAF, with anecdotal evidence, saying the PS4 has been seeing much higher pre order numbers.Do you have any info on that, based on the Gamestop you work at?

Reports all around saying that the pre-orders are 3:2 in favor of Sony and they will probably keep a ratio like that. Amazon has the PS4 as the best selling VIDEO GAME ITEM, not next gen console, but video game item. Which means that more people are PRE-ORDERING the PS4 than BUYING the 3DS and PS3 (which are the best selling consoles at market right now, 360 is at a healthy 3rd.)

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

if MS came out and said something like "we listened and removed the 24 hour online checks" they could negate most of the bad press they've received.  almost all of the bad stuff comes from the online checks.  if they changed their system to be more like what i described here it would be a total and complete win.  tons of advantages over the status quo (ps4) without stupid, stupid restrictions.

..i think they'd still be in a poorer position compared to the ps4 but it would be almost entire due to the $100 price difference.

It'll be highly profitable and it'll sell decently; that's my guess at least. So no, I don't think MS will change that much.

PR wise, no. Its popular to hate on MS and that will never change. But the more they show their games, the more people will be interested. There is a reason 360 exclusives sell best.

Sorry cant talk about that :(

I don't think the general public will be aware of what's going on with the XBox One, not everyone is focused on gaming events.

Launch is going to be all PS4, pre-orders indicate that. In the long run? Who knows.

It's just that simple.

They can start by firing Don Mattrick.

Just as we've seen with PS2 dominating in NA, it really means nothing for the next generation.

I'm tired of people saying that whoever buys the Xbox One is doing it out of blind loyalty. Sorry but the games they showed absolutely destroy anything Sony showed imo so that is why I'm buying it. I don't care about the DRM as you like to call it just like I don't mind it on my PC. I'm sure there are a lot of other people who also agree MS has the better lineup of games. If people want to buy it then so what. Get over yourselves. PS4 is not the greatest thing since sliced bread. It plays games and a bunch of rehashes at that.
