"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi

You'd figure they'd learn the first time around. They deserve to go bankrupt if this game sucks.

That's a little harsh. Last I heard, they already took a big hit with Tomb Raider!

So you're going to gimp the game in order to screw your fanbase out of money rather than making one completegame. Looks like I'm not going to bother with the 15 series. Thanks for the warning Square Enix.

lol everyone is only angry because of what FF13 was. guys KH may be coming to an end with 3. Nomura may turn this into his next main project

Not everyone.  While most of the fanbase think that 10 is a great game, there's a lot that think 10 sucked.  The majority of people think 11, 12, and 13 sucked.  The last four main Final Fantasy games were garbage, and then they announce they're breaking a game into pieces just so they can give us a half assed half finished product?  Even by some chance if this game happens to be good, they've already stated that they'd rather screw their fanbase by giving them an incomplete title just so we can get more money.

Final Fantasay used to be a series that you didn't have to worry about throwing $50 on because it had a high probability of being a great title.  With repeated crap games, the FInal Fantasy series in my opinion is garbage until proven otherwise.  So right now, I haven't played it.  But Final Fantasy 15 sucks, and until the game proves me wrong, then that's my opinion on it.  This is coming from someone who's supported Final Fantasy by purchasing every single game they've released in the states(other than 1, 4, and 6 which my parents purchased when I was a kid) because they were my favorite company way back when.  I have no issue with Square and Enix merging, but they're not just a garbage company.  Sakaguchi left and probably took the best people with him to Mistwalker, because ever since then Square Enix has been making complete garbage.

I haven't played a Final Fantasy main entry that I did not like, and I also liked the sequels X-2 and XIII-2 (although I thought XIII was better than its sequel), so I won't mind if XV gets a sequel (provided that I enjoy the first one).

I didn't feel X-2 did that to X as a whole game. It's just how the story changes in X because of X-2 that I disliked.

How does XIII-2 stack up?

It really depends on the script. If it's something vast like Xenogears or Xenosaga then I'm all for sequels. Even if they are 50$ each. But if it's something like FFX or FFXIII I would leave it by one game.

I actually loved 10-2.  Storyline wasn't very good but gameplay was amazing.  This one I feel that they only made a game because the first one did so well and they did such an amazing job witih the sequel.  It wasn't half assed.  The combat, the quest system, everything involving the gameplay is just so good.  FF10-2 is the very reason I'm getting the HD Collection.  Well.  That and Blitzball.  I didn't like FF10, but Blitzball is easily the best mini game I've ever played.  Put in atleast half the time I played FF10 into Blitzball, and I finished the game and got most of the secrets in FF10.  If not for Blitzball every so often, I probably wouldn't have had the will to keep going through FF10.

Final Fantasy 13-2 and now 15-2, it's clear they're just developing sequels so they can milk every game they release.

As for 13-2, I haven't played it, but I hated both the gameplay and story on FF13.  Apparently the  13-2 is  the exact same but you have two party members and a monster.  The game is supposedly way too easy as well.  I've also heard the storyline in 13-2 is even worse than 13 and that it has a DLC ending.

Considering that I hated FF13's gameplay and I can believe people when they ssay the storyline sucked.  Then I'd think it would suck, despite not playing it, and I'll go with that as my opinion.  I believe people that the storyline sucks because I've played just about every game they've released this gen.  They haven't had a storyline that wasn't absolute ass since FF9.  No joke.  Even the games I like have some of the worst s torylines I've ever seen on a JRPG.

Yay for quick cash-in completely uninspired and unnecessary sequels! This just provided proof that KH3 won't come out this generation, because SE can't handle more than one project at once.

Really? Wow... Why would they do that? I haven't played XIII yet, should I? Dos it need XIII-2 to be a complete story? If you don't know, someone here would.

I was the exact opposite! I played it once because the game made me! Or was it a few matches... I forget. I couldn't get into blitzball at all. If I played again though, it could be different.
