Forums - Microsoft Discussion - So... How is Microsoft going to ruin the "your family" loophole?

While I don't think there will be restrictions for now, there will probably be in the future.

In the future, they'll add in Kinect required authentication. If you want to add a family member, they'll have t o come to your home, add the XBL account, Kinect will scan their physical appearance, and then have you repeat certain key words and phrases and do an audio scan that is added to the cloud. Once the player gets back home, they need to authenticate the add by the Kinect scanning their physical appearance and authenticating the voice. You won't have to do this more than once, but atleast once to add an account as a family member.  All XBL accounts to a console which is why you'll have to be at the account holders home to add yourself, then authenticate yourself on your own console.

Or Microsoft could take it one step further and require visual and audio authentication every time you want to play a game on their account.

Around the Network

I don't know if anyone said this yet but they'll probably just force you to tie your Xbone account to your Facebook account to share games. Then you can share the game with your registered facebook friends and family that also have tied their accounts, and Microsoft can know who's your friend or family.

I'm curious of knowing whether Ballmer will appreciate or he'll gouge his own eyes after watching.

Both.

I should have expected it, Ballmer having his cake and eating it too! Like a boss (Hogg)!

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")
A fart without stink is like a sky without stars.
TGS, Third Grade Shooter: brand new genre invented by Kevin Butler exclusively for Natal WiiToo Kinect. PEW! PEW-PEW-PEW!

Publishers can surely allow or ban this just like they can on PSN (most allow it on PSN).
DLC surely won't be shared.
Probably requires payment to access entire game in a shared copy.

Well, seems like the riddle has been solved:

"First is family sharing, this feature is near and dear to me and I truly felt it would have helped the industry grow and make both gamers and developers happy. The premise is simple and elegant, when you buy your games for Xbox One, you can set any of them to be part of your shared library. Anyone who you deem to be family had access to these games regardless of where they are in the world. There was never any catch to that, they didn’t have to share the same billing address or physical address it could be anyone. When your family member accesses any of your games, they’re placed into a special demo mode. This demo mode in most cases would be the full game with a 15-45 minute timer and in some cases an hour. This allowed the person to play the game, get familiar with it then make a purchase if they wanted to."

Seems like nobody in this thread came up with this idea. But then again, I guess nobody in this thread could have possibly imagined something so ridiculous as a "family sharing" simply being a "demo mode".

Well, lol @ those Xbox enthusiasts in this thread why seriously believed that there wouldn't be any catch to "family sharing", who even suggested only a "hater" could possibly believe there would a catch.

This is just too funny!
