Forums - Microsoft Discussion - So... How is Microsoft going to ruin the "your family" loophole?

I believe they already confirmed that only one person can play the game at a time. So there, problem solved. You certainly don't want to give anyone outside your family the right to play your game if it means you won't be able to play it yourself.

cause when you lend the disc PS4 style you can play it at the same time right....????

What are you getting at? I see no reason at all for you to respond to my post.

I think I quoted the wrong post lol it was late when I did :D

but what I meant about people bitching about potentially not being able to play a game when one of your 10 friends is playing is, it is not that much different than when you lend that same game PS4 style.... you can't play it either while you lend it.... and to me PS4 way is actually less convenient.... cause even when that friend is done playing I still have to meet with him to get my game back to play whereas on XB1 I can play it again right away when he is done with his play session...

If they want any customers at all, they'll leave it be.

Maybe I missed some posts but I didn't really see too many people complaining about possibly not being able to play your game if your friend is playing it. There was this one guy and... Well, I don't remember any others but if they were, I disagree with them. Generally one purchased copy = one person playing at a time. Personally I prefer the PS4 way because it doesn't come with a ton of negative things with it.

My guess, is that when he says "any one of your family members can play a game of your library at a given time" he means to say one person out of the ten you choose can play one of your shared games....not all ten people can play, just one, even if you have 100 games to share.

This would basically be the same policy sony has of 2 licenses per digital, or if nine people on ps3 just shared one account with your own account, installed on all ten ps3s.

They will have to submit to a DNA test administered by the Xbone to prove that they are actually your family.

Yep. BTW the sample will be collected using an anal probe (there's a reason why it's called "XBone"), and Ballmer and his minions will supervise the process through Kinect.

Stwike him, Centuwion. Stwike him vewy wuffly! (Pontius Pilate, "Life of Brian")
A fart without stink is like a sky without stars.
TGS, Third Grade Shooter: brand new genre invented by Kevin Butler exclusively for Natal WiiToo Kinect. PEW! PEW-PEW-PEW!

I'm curious of knowing whether Ballmer will appreciate or he'll gouge his own eyes after watching.

Both.

FYI, this policy puts MS somewhat on par with what Sony already has for digital titles.

If you buy a digital title from PSN, you can activate it on 2 unique systems. Any number of accounts can access those titles on those 2 systems. Through your account management, you can activate and deactivate systems at will (so you can share with your family members).

Based on what MS said, you can use a title from any number of systems from 2 specific accounts. Through account management, you can add and remove member accounts from your "family" account.

This is a huge improvement over the current policy from MS that would only let one account on one console access the content (with the option to transfer once every 4 months).

For physical discs, it's a completely different story...
