Forums - Microsoft Discussion - So... How is Microsoft going to ruin the "your family" loophole?

I believe they already confirmed that only one person can play the game at a time. So there, problem solved. You certainly don't want to give anyone outside your family the right to play your game if it means you won't be able to play it yourself.

cause when you lend the disc PS4 style you can play it at the same time right....????

My bet is that ever member of your so called "family" would have to have their own xbox live gold account for that privilege anyone want to take that bet?

Well, if you have an x1 and dont have a gold account or plan on getting one... You wasted your money...

This policy is great. I would love to share games with my family. However, I can see a pretty sever comsequence for microsoft because of this policy. Developers developing single player only games wont want anything to do with x1. This policy has the potential to cut single player game sells to one tenth of what they should be. Since you cant play your library simultaniously, multiplayer games will be fine, but people will take advantage of single player games...

I have the same feeling. Although if this is true it could be a decent way of sharing games but publishers will absolutely hate this and block it completely. If you saw read MS's PR release, it says 3rd parties can either allow or not allow game sharing. I don't see any publisher allowing this level of game sharing if they are already not happy with the traditional way of just lending discs.

That said, one caviat I see is that the 10 people you add may become permanent, so you can't change them. Or something MS has planned.

yeah and ???? having an XB1 or even a 360 without XBL is like having a cellphone without a plan..... and looking at how many XB owner have a XBL plan they have a huge market to work with already....

this 10 people policy is actually the best thing for my use.... first I have never lended a game to more than 10 people and always in the same circle... second all my friends and familly are thousands of miles away.... with that system I can share my entire library at once with them and don't have to wait for them to give me back the disc....

once again PS4 is so last century it's not even funny....

the number of people that lend games in the first place is ridiculously low (I played close to 200 games last/this? gen and maybe lended 3 or 4 games and borrowed even less) I know I'm not the rule but beside the younger crowd (which is not the core market of MS) lending games is the exception not the rule.... and among those people lending game, the one lending a game to more than 10 different people is even lower without a doubt... so this policy is a non issue in the first place and way more convenient than what PS4 pretends to be better....

ie, I can play a game for a couple hours and right after I can switch with one my friends game while he plays one of mine while not moving from my house and travel all the way accross the ocean or even next door.... all that while visio chatting with him.... to me this blows PS4 policy out of the watter but hey old habits die hard right....

can't wait to get my XB1 and only :D

Microsoft has also made a change that a Xbox Live Gold account will span across all gamertags homed on a Xbox One.  In other words if you now have multiple Xbox Live Gold accounts for multiple family members you will only need one in the future.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

They are still working on that so that's why they haven't said much yet. It is a big advantage IMO. I just hope more than one person can play my games at the same time. This will be a nice feature and if it does well then sony will copy it just like they copy everything else.

i agree!

Sony is doing everything so last gen. It seems like Sony mocks the "good" things microsoft does. You can bet Sony will do the same with game share after seeing what Microsoft is doing.

Well, they copied the pay to play model of online so, what's next? The PSEye is also more similar to Kinect then Kinect is to the EyeToy. Do I even need to bring up PS: All Stars Battle Royal or the PS Move? They're just known for taking ideas and making them their own with their own implementations.

It seems some people here have nothing better to do than take anything that's positive for X1 and try to bring it down. Are your lives really this boring?

I think that is the only conclusion we can make.

And/or they have purchased a bunch of Sony stock.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

I think it's because any good features the XO may have are considered loopholes now...

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.
