Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One family sharing works with friends!

I'm calling it now. You'll have to put the disc into your Xbone before you can play the shared copy. Willing to make bets.

Finally good news. Sharing like that is way better than having to walk a mile to a friends house just to give him a game. Good job, MS.

If MS would make a how-to video on this, they would absolutely trump Sony's lending video. Trolling the troll.

HOW SURE are you that you won't have to insert the disc and have it verified online before you can start playing?

I'm pretty sure it'll be the case.

What about in cases where it is a digital download?

because MS is going digital. what I got from that feature is that if my friend has access to my library, he can play any game from my library through the cloud or whatever.

Hmmm.  I didn't interpret it that way.  I guess, per Microsoft, we'll just have to wait and see!  They keep dragging out details, giving slightly conflicting reports, etc.  What does that really tell you?   Cmon.  Think about it.

I think they are getting a little more backlash then even they anticipated, and are making changes etc.  Trying to figure out a way to get this to a point where it's "acceptable enough" for peole to actually buy the console.

no conflicting reports. people just speculate on things they dont know. they announced in the begining you wuld be able to play the game library of 10 Family members, with 2 playing simultaniously. they just didnt say who would qualify as a family meber, and they didnt clarify if it it was two people can play the same game at once or two people can play the same game library at once.

So for comparison. ps4 I can give my game to someone to play but I can't play it
With the x1 me and 10 others can share the all our games and I can still play it as long as no one else is

Uh, skewed a bit.  Let me return the favor:

PS4 you can share your physical disc with unlimited other people to play, but you cannot play simultaneously.

Xbox One (according to THIS report, seems to change weekly) you can share your game [via library] with only 10 other people, but you cannot play simultaneously.

See what I did there?

thing is it never change per their license shown on june 6th care to read it?

I know the link.  Problem is details are important when you have this many hoops to jump through.  I can share with 10 family.  I can transfer to a friend (who has been on my list for 30 days) once.  Does that guy become the new primary?  Can he then share with his 10 "family" members?

Without a lot of restrictions, there would be a lot of ways to expliot these features.  And if you read the [not so] fine print, Microsoft can change it at any moment.

"As we move into this new generation of games and entertainment, from time to time, Microsoft may change its policies, terms, products and services to reflect modifications and improvements to our services, feedback from customers and our business partners or changes in our business priorities and business models or for other reasons.  We may also cease to offer certain services or products for similar reasons."

What I am saying is that this won't be the case.

At the very least you can only play on one console per 24-hour period. But I highly doubt that downloadable games will be sharable - possible, but very, very unlikely.

They've never been shareable, so why would they be now? No, this "sharing" feature is there because we've been able to do that since forever with our physical copies.

digital or disc, its all the same. no difference between the two at all except one is downloaded and one is not.

LOL!  All I can think of is the scene where Darth Vader says he's ALTERING THE DEAL.
