Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One family sharing works with friends!

Not trying to flame, or cause trouble, but won't publishers and developers absolutely hate this? Especially the developers of smaller games, who universally hated the game sharing loophole on the PS3?

I don't know, I'd wager MS has a simple algorithm to prevent this. If they can ship it with rocket science level tech but they are unable to put in a couple of lines of code on their servers to prevent people from having 10 brothers from other mothers i'd be very surprised. For all we know you could be banned for doing that if they find you abusing the system.

So you know what this means right? We all need to form groups of 10 (based on similar game interests). Then you can split the cost of a game via Paypal, and take turns playing that game (just not simultaneously).

What I hate about all this DRM crap (besides costing me more money) is that it just makes shit more complicated.  Microsoft would have been better off going all in, and just making a trading market where you can sell the game (license) for whatever you want (like ebay, just for games, but M runs it).  They then just simply take a sale fee like ebay would.  This would work for disc or digital downloads, since the market would be all about buying and selling licenses.... Yeah craigslists would be out, but at least the market could dictate the used resale price then.

In my opinion, they could have done that or just leave it as is this gen.

i thought they were?

A market where the user gets to define his asking price?  I haven't seen anything about that / highly doubt it.  Microsoft wants full control of everything which just drives me mad.  This coming from a 3 console owner that played (plays) his Xbox the MOST.  In fact, if it weren't for the last of us, it would be the only console I touched this year.

It's enough that you want me to spend 500 on a console, then 40+ for live per year, and then on top of that you want to price fix / restrict the used game market.  FUCK THAT.  And now you people are saying that's generous.  FFS what the hell is wrong with you all lol.

Its like a king who says no food or fresh water, but then you are allowed to drink out of the river once per 10 days.  Wow, how generous of that king.

I hope you can prove me wrong.  Don't forget, I need to be able to determine my asking price.  And fees should be 10% or less (fair compared to ebay, especially since I cannot use craigslist anymore).

It's a sad day in gaming when stuff like this has to be explained.

Just walk back Microsoft. You still have time to remove all these silly restrictions.

I am the black sheep     "of course I'm crazy, but that doesn't mean I'm wrong."-Robert Anton Wilson

So for comparison. ps4 I can give my game to someone to play but I can't play it
With the x1 me and 10 others can share the all our games and I can still play it as long as no one else is

I assume you are referring to my Paypal system.  So let me ask you this, can you EXPLICITLY define what is abuse and what is not?  This guy DID say you didn't have to be related.

See what I mean about Microsoft complicating things? lol

That is fucking awesome!!!!
