People do care though apparently.

at the moment this site is literally 95% pro Sony and anyone who prefers anything else is instantly ganged up on.

ive been here since 07 when you count my first year lurking and it has never been this bad.

You should blame MS for that.  Their policies have driven gamers to Sony and, to a lesser extent, Nintendo.

Can't argue with that. MS has made some pretty large blunders in regards to the core gamer and I can understand a bit of the anger, though I think it's being hugely overplayed.

What was the excuse before the Xbox One? Even with 360 the same stuff happened.

The simple answer is there is a disproportionate amount of Sony fans on the Internet in general compared to the other console manufacturers.

this is due to the age group that consists of the majority of forum gowers grew up during the hey day of the PS1 and PS2 era when Sony was dominant.

Never really felt welcome here, even before the XBox One. It really sucks being a fan of Microsoft, even more so now.

I've tried to contribute with stuff before but it either gets A) Ignored or B) Bashed. I don't feel the mods are responsible though, they have been pretty tough though fair on a majority of people here. Some people just come back for more and do their best to agitate me. Last week was the first time I've actually resorted to reporting someone because I was close to replying to some bait.

The whole game data base issue (I use to keep track of all the games I owned via this website, and the database was no longer being worked on, I guess I was in the minority) was another blow for me.

The best thing about this site for me right now is the news/rumors. Stuff gets posted here pretty fast compared to Gamespot and IGN. I've learned of things hours (sometimes days) before stuff that I read on Gamespot.

Its also too bad fans of the Xbox brand are being made to feel unwelcome not just here and that really is something that needs to change in order for VGC to have a more healthy and productive community moving forward.

no I enjoy this site more than anyother site I'm joined to... VGC and somewhat Neogaf are the only sites where you're not met with a F*ck you and other insults by just trying to get your point across

What makes you say "somewhat" about neogaf?

because some user really do get away with some extensive cursing at times, usually vets.

I honestly do not know what can be done about the current situation, maybe people should focus their energy on attacking the unpopular polices that Microsoft has put into place and lay off the fans the Xbox since this is something almost no one would want to support by choice anyway.

360 has had and continues to have a much better reaction in online community. No recent console or handhelds can really compare to hate pre-release. Only thing that comes close was the Wii.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I've found that with broad gaming sites there really is no way to have a strong community. Nintendo Life is the only place that I've been able to really feel safe and comfortable when talking about games, and that's because it's small and obviously only dedicated to Nintendo. Bring in multiple consoles and more people and you're going to get assholes in droves. It's just the way it works.

This is asking for too much. There is not a single fanbase on this site who does what you described. Whenever a company produces negatives, the fans of other companies will use the negatives against them. This is nothing new. It happened with the ps3, it happened with the Wii U and now its happening with Xbox One. If an individual is constantly angry with the community and wants to leave here then they are leaving because of their preferred company and not the fanbase that they think they are mad at.

That's the way i see it.
